I'm glad that deleting the manual solved the problem you guys were having! I wish I had remembered to mention that I had done that earlier.

I just up calibre. Is BeBook Mini the only option. Shouldn't it be generalized in the Hanlin section?

I think you can change it in the scripts somewhere if you want, but it does work fine with that identification.

Great thanks Tamzilla!

I was getting this error message upon connection:

'NoneType' object has no attribute 'authors'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "calibre\gui2\device.pyo", line 57, in run
File "calibre\gui2\device.pyo", line 199, in _books
File "calibre\devices\usbms\driver.pyo", line 69, in books
File "calibre\devices\usbms\driver.pyo", line 174, in book_from_path
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'authors'

But now after removing the Chinese manual, I don't get any error. Happy with this little tip. Thanks!

RE: Remove Chinese Manual

Just ordered an EZ Pro from Astak. Is chiese manual removal as simple as just deleting it on the EZ Pro?

Right. Just plug the PP in via the usb and identify the file (by the funny symbols for a name) and you can just delete it or copy it to your computer if you are paranoid about deleting things like I am.

You're welcome Javed! I'm glad that tip helped you out.

emt, like kennyc said, you shouldn't have any trouble deleting the file, just do it before you start Calibre. I would suggest that once your receive your EZ Pro, you plug it in using the wall charger and let the unit completely charge up before you try to play with it, as hard as that is to do. The unit will automatically turn on when you plug it in to charge, I just turned it off as soon as it finished booting up and let it charged. With the unit off and charging, you will see a lightning bolt that will change to a strange icon that I think is supposed to represent the wall plug unplugged when it's fully charged - shouldn't take a full 12 hours for this, more like 4 or 5 hours. Then turn it on and connect it to your computer (a USB hub on the computer seems to work better than going through an external hub). Anyway for what it's worth, this is what I did and I never had any of the connection problems some people seemed to have.

When mines came, I updated the firmware and then finished it.

Yep, I did the same on both instances of mine. There was plenty of charge in the battery to begin using it. The loooooong battery charging etc. is only for calibrating the battery meter.

It will show up (at least in windows) as a file with strange graphic characters for the file name. Look at it in explorer and delete it and/or move it to your computer.
