Howdy! I've been reading this forum for a week or two, always something interesting or fun, and the best advice going! My husband has had his Kindle 2 for a week now. He loves it! I expect I will love my Sony Touch even more!! I'll be putting my 1, 2, or 3 cents in as they occur to me, so watch out, and thank you for being here! Fi |

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I anticipate a few minor squalls over whose reader is best for what (or should I say whose liseuse?? ), but I think we each made the best choice for ourselves. He has already explored Calibre, so we will be able to share some of our books. Fi |

Hello Filark & let me add my welcome to MobileRead. I like the ability to highlight passages and take notes -- and that's what really keeps the Kindle as my favorite reader. I didn't notice whether the new Sony 600 has that capability or not. I'm not keen on touch devices, either. Tried an iPhone and got all flustered so I bought a old/reconditioned Blackberry. (Yes, another device with a keyboard.) I'm sure you each will find things that you like about the other's device but will still be happy with your choices. And, if you make most of your purchases in "multi-format" books from Fictionwise and Baen/Webscriptions, you can download both formats and won't even have to do any format-shifting. I'm glad you've joined us at MobileRead. I'm sure that your "mixed marriage" when it comes to book readers will work out just as well as an Auburn-Alabama household (or FSU-UF, VT-UVA, UT-TAMU, etc.) |
