...now that I think about it, he's the same teacher who tried to persuade one of my classmates that smoking was healthy- and he had a medicine degree too (thankfully he didn't pass the exam enabling him to become a GP or something!). (Think about how things have changed: I just took him for a madm-, er, an eccentric character; nowadays he'd have parents screaming for his blood, hide and bones for having suggested anything like that... not that he wasn't absolutely wrong, but we were eighteeen

As for e-books - I think I'm quite out of the habit of writing in books, thank you very much. I'm surprised the e-book manufacturers think we *want* to. It's like they want back the Middle Ages again. Paper isn't *that* expensive, is it??

Never thought to write in books. I'd rather write in a notebook beside me. That way, in case I lost a book, I'd have all my notes to use with another copy.

Plus, if its a book I don't intend to keep, I believe that writing in a book removes value in that book.
