Although I agree with you fully, I'm afraid there is up until now no way to convert drm-ed ePub books to mobi

I'd like to be mistaken because then I'll buy the latest Joe Abercrombie book in a second So please show me I'm wrong anyone......

You will have to de-drm them first of course. If that's against the law/conscience (choose appropriate) the answer is big no.

You certainly CAN do it, technically speaking. Whether it's LEGAL to do it in your country is an entirely different question.

I can deDRM my mobi-books, but I don't because I don't have to with my cyBook. But as far as I know ePub's security isn't broken yet. Or am I wrong ?

NO WAY that I'm going to install the ePub version of the cybook firmware. When I BUY a DRMed ebook I find that I have the right to remove the DRM so that I can read the book on my own reading device. Legal or not, that's just common sense as far as I'm concerned.

By converting from ePUB to Mobi, however, you loose some features like off-line table of contents and advanced formatting (drop caps, better borders and margins).

I bought Joe Abercrombie's Best served Cold tonight at Waterstones, deDRMed it and converted it to mobi using Calibre. And it really looks amazing, with working toc, same formatting as the ePub version everywhere. WONDERFULL.

*** false alarm***

I almost had a heart attack couple of minutes ago... I saw Bookeen's newsletter in my mailbox and thought :

Oh my god... Oh my god... Oh my god!!!
My battery is not fully charged... How much it time it will take...
...
...
...
WHAT!
"The Newest, Lightest, Feature Rich eBook Reader by Bookeen!"

They sent newsletter about Opus NOW, when we are waiting with baited breath for the news about FIRMWARE and not about bloody Opus that's been here for MONTHS!
*couple of deep breaths*

Can you noticed I 'm a bit pissed off?

Will still work better than converting from pdf But the one i did that, it messed up with margins. never understood why.

Vesper, woooo, calm down. There are things more worth worrying about than a firmware update.

I don't take that as a guide as the book is on pre-order at the moment.
