New Posts drop-down menu gone?

I'm clicking on the 'New Post' and am no longer getting a drop-down menu. Instead it is taking me to my subscribed forums new posts, which saves me a step, which is strange.

The system has been really slow this morning. I've timed out about 3 times in the last half hour. Could this be caused by the system being slow or has a change been made to the 'New Posts' option.

I'm using Chrome.

Not just you - it's been REALLY slow here as well today. I think there's a system problem.

it's been painfully slow for me today too. there must be something going on. i hope it's resolved quickly ; high speed internet connection has exacerbated my natural tendency to impatience.

however, my "new posts" menu still does work (i get the drop-down menu with all the options). i tested in chrome as well. you might want to try to empty your cache and refresh the page (if the wait doesn't kill you

) ; that's ctrl + F5.

hm, it seems to have speeded up again suddenly... let's hope it's not just temporary. is it working for you again ?

Yes, something is wrong on my system. My whole top bar is ****ed up. I'll try emptying my cashe (again) to see if it fixes the problem.

Problem with 'New Posts' resolved. Clearing cash (again) seemed to fix it.

...and, we're back to molasses-slow loading.

let us know if the refresh works. it might also just be related to the general slow-down ; sometimes if a site is loading too slowly not all the various elements will be loaded at all. could be some of your top bar is "dropping off". hopefully this will be fixed as soon as the servers are back to normal.

I am right now at the airport with limited Internet, but I received a notice that a DDoS attack is currently targeting our Canadian network provider. They are working on filtering the attack.

thanks for the news alex !!! it's good to know what is going on. it's been unbearably slow for several of us today and we were wondering what the problem was.

Is this then a problem limited to "up north"?

Here in Arizona, I have been getting instant loading, with no problems whatsoever.

it may be back to normal now, anyway ; it seems to be loading fine at the moment. if you weren't affected it's possible your connection didn't take the same route via the targetted server.

It's OK for a few minutes, then spins for 10 minutes here still.
