No more middle of the night fireworks displays. In November. No more driving up at 11:30 PM, yelling loudly at one another, then letting the dogs out and yelling loudly at them. No more petty vandalism of my gardens by The Son and his loser friends. No more mowing the lawn at 6:00AM on a Sunday. Wouldn't that be great?

I'll worry about the new neighbors when they arrive.

Wow, sounds like our neighbors... the "partypack". Even if they have been rather quiet this summer. Just been a few ocations when I have been tempted to go over and cut the electricity to their house with an axe.

The main quip I have with them is their immensly bad taste in music, they listen mostly to what over here in sweden is called "Dansband", which really have no equivalent anywhere else as far as I know. If I have to compare it to something, I would have to say Country, only worse, MUCH worse.

And once they get really drunk... Tam Tam TAAAAAA! Karaoke-time!

Now, Karaoke can be fun, but not at 2 am when one tries to get some sleep. And again, the music selection they "sing" to is in my book the equivalent of something you ould get from a Katzenklavier!

The day they move... I will be dancing nekkid on my driveway!

seriously, we should round up all the neighbors like this in the whole world and send them to live on some desert island together where they could only annoy each other (and they would all deserve it).

A couple of noisy bangs compared to 3 hours of bad karaoke. No contest in my book!

I've just listened to the first 10 seconds of your audio (I couldn't take any more - it's horrendous!!!) Has your landlord arranged the work? Has he told you how long the it's likely to last?
No-one should have that inflicted on them for any length of time, it's barbaric!

I like what I hear about Switzerland being strict on what residents can do - although people here tend to disparage the idea as being too overbearing. But I'd prefer having clear guidelines about what is acceptable. If people want to make a racket, they should live with people of similar inclinations, and leave the rest of us alone in quiet neighbourhoods.

You really have to look into it Z... would solve your shums problem as well

ha ! ha ha !! hahahahahaa !!!! the landlord did indeed arrange the work, he's redoing the appart before renting it out to someone new (who will probably make a lot of noise. ) for probably double what the previous tenant paid. but, him, tell us how long the work will last ??? it is to laugh ! the landlord is an odious parasitic leech who looks at his tenants and sees stacks of money !! he only cares about our rent checks, not about our comfort.

THANK YOU !!! that's precisely what i think !!!! i suppose it wouldn't be quite so bad if they bothered to CLOSE THE WINDOWS over there, but nooooo.... but seriously, if they are here this weekend again, i seriously want to call the police, this is outrageous. and i'm pretty sure it's illegal, too.

i agree, put all the noisy people together. and technically, we do have noise laws here too, i believe ; i think you're not allowed to make noise after a certain hour, or weekends, and such. i just now was doing a bit of googling and discovered that 5 february 2010 there will be an international conference about "quiet zones". i think i should look into this.
