Is it possible to enter a password for password protected PDFs?
Hi,
Thanks for the great review. I'm really interested in the PRS-600 - your comments about the screen being good are very reassuring. I was becoming a little concerned with the number of comments about glare. I wondered if you had tried the device with any password protected PDFs? I would be using the PRS-600 for reading technical manuals in PDF form - some of them, for instance, those from Apress are password protected. I was wondering if when loading a password protected book, if a dialogue popped up and allowed you to enter your password, thus accessing the book to read. Kind regards, Jon. |

Very nice review and thanks for the pictures of the cover, very nice. Nothing weird at all about preferring holding a reader over a book. I also find it the preferable way to read, and the bigger the book the more I like it in e-format. And I agree, not only do I read faster with the e-readers I also read more. Welcome to the world of e-reading!

It looks great. I love and prefer the Sony covers plastic snap insert, so the fact that they fold back make them my 1st and only choice!

Along with really looking like an actual book cover something else I love about the Sony covers is they are not bulky and are very light. The Sony cover I bought for the 600 is only 2.8 ounces. I was never able to find a cover that light for the kindle when I had that I really appreciate how light they make them. So no temptation to buy an m-edge or an oberon cover. I just don't want the extra bulk and weight.

Quick question?
Does it come with the cover or you have to buy the cover separately? Thanks. |

Review of my PRS 600
Great post formerroadie. I read an article on about Sony's new ereaders and, of course, I had to get to MR to see what everyone thinks about them. I am sold on this reader after your review! I have a PRS505 and love it. The new features on the 600 are a dream. Thanks for the pix and user details. Now to figure how to fit this one into my budget!

The default cover that came with my 505 folds back just fine? Did you actually try to fold it back?

If you're reading in a stationary location, why don't you just pop the Sony out of the cover? Then there's nothing to fold back & makes it even lighter & less cumbersome.

I read on the train. I have a 45 minutes commute each way, M to F. I ride 1 train for 9 stops and change train for 1 stop, so between waiting for my 1st train and the 2nd train, the actual commute can be 1 hour on a bad day, but usually about 45 minutes if I time it correctly. So a cover is a must for me.
