That was better than not hyphenation at all. And i've seen quite a few words cut bye the end of the screen.

Mobi will consider "It—can't—be" to be a single word, and will not start a new line after either of the two dashes. ADE will do.

I think mobi do this because some mobi books have hardcoded hyphen...

But you should have thin space around the dashes so then the problem might disappear.

That's a solution, yes, but personally I prefer not to have spaces around dashes. As I say, ADE handles them just fine; it's just a Mobi "quirk" that it doesn't consider a dash to be a character at which it's "allowed" to split the line. What's even worse is that if Mobi decides that it really must break a line at a dash, it appends a hyphen to it!

You may not know the answer to this, but in regards to folders...

Can a book be in a folder and then a link/shortcut to the same book be in a second folder? Not sure if I'm making sense and it's not really a big deal if the answer is no, just wondering.

Does a FAT32 filesystem under Linux support links? I'm not a Linux expert, by any means, but I had a vague feeling that it didn't.

Sony's BBeB renderer will do the same think as Bookeen's Mobipocket renderer. Quite annoying and makes for some pretty poor lines when fully justified.
