Well, it's not possible, as I also want to try out the BeBook2. But that hasn't arrived yet. And ideally I would be able to compare them side by side. So, if I buy the Sony now, and the BeBook2 when it arrives and leaves the Sony with my mom, because she's fallen in love with it (when I mentioned she could change the letter size she became suddenly interested...) or the BeBook2 (depending on which I like better...), I'd even have a christmas gift!

(oh, and I'm queen in procastrination and fencesitting isn't too hard if you take a nice pillow with you)

No, I don't like the fencesitting part! I'd just as soon buy them all. That I like, no, even love! But sadly, my finances just won't support that. And I'll need a gift for our 16th year anniversary as well. And the state lottery isn't really helping either! (another chance in 10 days...)

I think I'll give myself a present on the 24th... I'll have my driver's license for 5 years then (and I'll no longer be a starter driver!)


when you get your driver's license here, no matter how old you are, you'll get a starter driver's license. Which means that if you break the law by speeding, drinking alcohol, ignoring save driving distances, or anything else that is just plain dangerous driving, you get a point. And after 3 points, you'll have to get your driver's license again. A bit like the English system (which I adore, by the way) but a bit less strict and only for the first 5 years

We have the same system, but we have a 2 year limit. Which I think is very good actually. It's sheer stupidity to let the majority of 18 year old guys get behind the wheel of a car. Before they enforced that rule, the worst traffic offenders where new male driver between 18 and 20.

But then, we have a TV-show here that translates to "Swedens worst drivers" that makes you scared to even go out on the roads after watching it.

I think every country has a show like that (ours is called "road misusers")

I really love when people are really speeding (which is 50km too fast or more) and then complain that they lose their driver's license because they need it for work.

I agree. Unfortunately, in the US the minimum legal driving age is much younger.

Kids that age aren't even allowed to drive a 50cc motor/scooter yet... You have to be at least 16 for that. Kids that age aren't even allowed to work for wages yet even!
