Hi everyone, i thought it might help you guys and gals from non-cricket playing nations if i posted the rules for you. Here is a summary -
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game! There, i bet that's converted you all!!! Best wishes, Tracey |

That easy krisk;the team that wins the toss of the coin is in and the other side are trying to get them out!
If it is any consolation to you fine folks in the USA, I have no idea of the rules or scoring of american football... |

Well American Football rules are simple.
Everyone goes out on the field and spends an hour beating everyone else up, except for the referees. The winner is the team with the most commercial endorsements and fewest felony convictions at the end of the day. Way simpler than Cricket, I feel. |

Adam Hills had a nice bit in his stand-up routine about the 2005 win. He was in England at the time, and says how nice everyone was to him, very polite and not crowing at all.
The he went to the post office to get a stamp for a letter home. The cost of an airmail letter to Australia then was 68p... Quote:
(The image shows the commemorative stamps issued for the 2005 Ashes victory. Two stamps for 1st class letters delivered in the UK. And two 68p stamps!) |

Hey Zelda, do many Frenchmen play cricket nowadays? ![]() As for congratulating the Poms: yes, congratulations to England. Pure luck came through for them! Don't worry England: those Ashes will end up back where they belong next time! ![]() |
