As long as there is no dictionary-support in ePub, I'm sticking with Mobipocket.

Sorry, but "scheduled for Q1/2009 - information will follow..." and no more word from them on the matter (we're nearing Q3) is not enough! I consider the promise broken. (But this is just my 2 cents!)
I agree that bookeen needs to do someting about communication. But don't worry , update will come.

And i thing bookeen actually solved a bug i bumped in during the meeting.I need to check that one better.

Because Sony coded the dictionary code themselves. It's not actually part of ADE.

No, I've been told by someone at Adobe that it is part of ADE. Actually, it's part of Adobe Mobile. The readers don't run DE, they run Adobe Mobile.

As for why only the 600 uses it, I was also told that the dictionary implementation was "needlessly hacky".

But since it exists and it works. Then why not use it till something better comes along?

It probably wasn't worth the effort.

It does appear from their website that they are intending doing the 'firmware upgrade' but goodness knows on the when (past experience) ..
I (like Nate) will wait until it's available with Mobipocket and then purchase
Thanks everyone

Of course, liberating mobi ebooks from the DRM prison is pretty easy to do... then they would all work on the Opus, which reads non-DRMed mobi's IIRC. (And if not just use calibre to convert them to epub.

No, the Opus doesn't read non-DRM Mobi files. Those devices which do (eg the Hanlin, BeBook, etc) are doing so using FBReader which, to be honest, is a pretty dreadful Mobi reader.
