You paint it white.
Of course you must use organic paint not to ruin the screen.

Hijacking this thread.
Hi, newbie Hanlin v3 user.
I'm having the same problems as described in this thread.
Bought a Pixelar v3, and get sended back to the bookshelf on some mobi-books.
The solution seems to be using openinkpot. I've tried that as firmware, v 01, but then I could'nt get in contact with the v3 on my pc (win XP), and Calibre could'nt find the device as well.
Could the solution be, to run OI as an .exe on my sd-card, and can the pixelar firmware do that?

OI doesn't support mass storage, so you can't connect to the device this way. One of the options is, as you say, running OI live and switching back to pixelar firmware when you need to connect it to the computer.
If you have a SD card reader, you might also consider copying files straight on the card and then putting it back into your V3 - it's a lot faster than USB connection.

In addition to what Idle already told you, there is a way of accessing the book storage memory of OpenInpot with a WinXP PC. But first, I would not reccomend using the 0.1 version of OpenInkpot because it is missing a lot of features, and I think that what I am going to describe can only be done in later versions. You can get the 20090326 snapshot here along with it's User Guide and Installation Guide. There are even later versions than that, but they do not yet have a User Guide or Installation Guide.
The User Guide links you to instructions on setting up an SSH connection between your PC and OpenInkpot. That will give you a command line interface that you can use to access the book storage area on OpenInkpot. However, you can go a step further and install WinSCP on your PC to have a drag and drop GUI to install or remove books from OpenInkpot's book storage area with simple Windows mouse point and click commands. You can get the free WinSCP here. Once that is installed and setup you will have a book management method quite similar to what you are probably already used to. The book storage area in OpenInkpot is in /mnt/storage and you can set up whatever directory structure that you would like in that area.

Thanks alot for these suggestions.
I have read further on in these forums, and I think I will try to convert my files to FB2 or RTF via calibre, and se, if the fit my reading behavior.
It seems that the reader on these to formats might be better, and have more options.
But I like that mobi-format, so perhaps i will OI later on.
Still only a week into my ownership of that wonderful v3, so I have a lot to learn, yet.

This e-reading isn't really that mature tech yet, is it, but it really activates my nerd genepool.
:-)
