hm, i don't know if i should thank you yvan. i do have font management software installed ; the problem is that i'm pretty sure i don't have this font (yet...), i think i saw it on a font website when i was looking for a font for a *different* project, recently. now if only i could remember which one !

The Great Ones of the Internet are supposed to be working on a way to search for one image that is similar to another. If we had that, perhaps you could sketch as much of a letter of the font as you remember, then search for matches. Wouldn't that be nice?

My rant for the day: I really must remember not to use trackpads on laptops, but rather, plug in a mouse or something. Before the tendon damage gets any worse.

You could waste several hours, and gain more fonts than you'll know what to do with (but possibly not the one you actually want) and go browse dafont and the rest...

I had a program like that too. But couldn't remember it. Until I remembered it came with my Word Prefect 10. And that helped with the search (it was Bitstream Font Navigator, btw).

It already exists for fonts, but I'm not sure how well it would work for sketches, it does work reasonably well for scanned text.
