M edge and the new prs600

I was just noticing the size of the new 600 seems to be the same size as the 505 with th exception that it is .1 inch thicker..........if this is correct do you think the m edge executive cases would fit the new reader? I just ordered 2 new covers last week and I am already thinking about buying the 600 when it comes out if the screen is clear.

I'm interested in the same question: will either the M-Edge cover for the PRS-505 or the cover for the PRS-700 fit the new PRS-600? -

I'm planning to order this device and would love to get also a fitting M-Edge cover for it at the same time.

From a lay point of view, it should work... I just noticed that it's also on sale, and since the PRS-606 is very tempting, I guess I'll give it more than a small thought, if the shipping to the EU is not too costly

I sent an email to M-edge asking if the 505 cover would fit the 600 on Friday. If I get an answer from them, I'll post their response here.

I got a response from "Team M-Edge". The answer was that they couldn't say if the current case would fit the 600 until they could actually try the case with a 600. He told me I could order one, try it with the new reader, then return it if it doesn't fit.

I've been thinking about this as well, so I will be eagerly awaiting any reports of real trials. I have been thinking that it might just be a very tight fit, and possibly it could be possible to soften the bottom straps with water to stretch them. I'm not in a hurry to get the 600, but am eagerly awaiting reports and reviews

Didn't think of it earlier, but I got a silicone cover/skin for the 505 today, and I thought to try how the reader fit in the M-Edge cover with the skin on. It adds at least a mm in each direction, so I thought it would make a realistic trial.

It's a tight fit, espcially for the bottom straps, but not impossible. I'm still holding off for the real 600-in-an-M-Edge-cover verdict, but if the dimensions are as stated, it should be okay.

Does anyone have the measurements from the Sony manuals of both the 505 and 600 in mm or cm? I've seen it somewhere, and I seem to remember that there were a mm or two difference not only in thickness, but in lenght and width as well. The measurements in inches might be rounded off and not be quite as accurate.

The 600 is 121 × 174.3 × 9.8 mm. The 505 is 122 x 175 x 8mm.

I found the measurements for the 600 in the PRS-600 manual I downloaded from the SonyStyle site. I found the 505 dimensions on the Canadian SonyStyle site.

Thank you! Then I don't worry. It won't be a perfect fit, but even for someone as persnickety as me, it looks acceptable.

I found the M-Edge covers to be somewhat interchangeable between the 505 and 700. The 700 fits in the cover made for the 505, nice and tight.

I like the narrower spine area of the 700 cover, so i bought one of them for my 505. The 505 fits in the 700 cover nicely. Doesnt seem loose at all.

I gave my 505 cover and my 700 to a gal at work ...

I just now noticed at Amazon that the covers for the 505 are on sale for 14.99. In addition there was one customer review of the 600. She indicated that the 600 fit well in her m-edge which was for the 505. She also rated the 600 with 5 stars. This is the only review posted so far.

I agree with bcyin. I ordered four of those M-Edge PRS-505 cases for my immediate family & as a gift for a friend with a Sony 505. The 505 case naturally fit my daughter's 505 perfectly. It also fit my husband's and my PRS-600s like they were custom made for the 600. Those cases are gorgeous, and they have a strong stiffener in the front and back to protect the readers.

I sent an email to M-Edge begging them to release an E-Luminator light for the 505 case. After all, those cases already have the pouch for the light sewn in. One of those would replicate the Sony lighted case, but it would look MUCH better and cost much less than the Sony case.

M-Edge must've just realized that 505 jacket fits the 600...prices went from $14.99 to $24.99 today.

I had it in my Amazon cart and just got notified the price went up. Snooze and lose

Hopefully this means they will decide to release a light for the cover.
