I'm happy for the Edinburgh Festival. The whole vibe of the city changes, and it's great, and that's before you consider the random people wandering about in random costumes, street theatre, freebies, and then you have the actual shows and so on. It's totally worth the disruption to the locals (as a local, I'm allowed to judge thus).
Then you have the Film Festival, Book Festival......
Can highly recommend everyone coming or endorsing their own local equivalent.

I'm also grateful for my cats. Mostly.

Nope. I've had that necklace design in my head for YEARS. Finally got all the bits together to make it. The steel cross I bought years ago, just needed the onyx beads and the fixings.

so true !! years of lavomatic visits (and the occasional hand laundry in the sink...) have made me truly appreciate being able to do my washing in the comfort of my own home. particularly when it's raining, actually, moreso than when it's hot. it's a luxury, but it's a luxury i'm no longer willing to do without.
