Nice! They also have the new covers (not yet available on the US site).

And they show a picture of the cover w/ light. They are not light wedges but more of the clip on book light style.

Sonystyle.ca gives you a $25 coupon towards books from their store. This makes up a bit for the inflated price they charge us.

Just saw the new covers, and the brown one looks really nice..

does this mean that the readers will not come with a cover at all and we have to buy covers separately? I thought the older sony models came with a cover.

btw, after Ea's help in going all that trouble to post photo's of his silver 505 to help me decide between silver or black color, I just pre-ordered the silver touch model. now just have to wait till the 31st...and then for the postman...

the 300 and 600 comes with a Neoprene Sleeve. They will have something to help protect them. Yes older Sony models did have a cover although many users replaced it with a better one.

How do you all know that the screen of the 600 will be better than that of the 700? I guess I am missing something here.

1) Since that was the main reason people wouldn't buy the Sony, and they knew it, they would be stupid not to work on it (and they stated they did, in their press release, and that it is much clearer).
2) They got rid of the built in light, which accounted for at least some of the lack of screen clarity.

Since no one's seen in yet, we don't know how much better it is, but I'm pretty confident.

Yea I agree, thanks Ea for all the effort in posting those samples that has made me more confident in the silver. I still won't order it until I hear reviews of the screen clarity but at least I know case reflections won't be an issue.

I feel pretty confident that they have fixed the screen clarity as sony have mentioned that they have improved it. even if it's not as clear as 505's I guess anything close to it is good enough for me. I would trade some clarity for having a touch screen.
besides the sony official launch will be on the 25th and they won't be shipping new readers until 31st. I figured there will be reviews (at minimum about screen clarity) right after the announcement and some impressions here on the site since mobileread was invited to the launch. So plenty of time to cancel pre-orders if there are any major problems with it.
But looking at the 600 manual, it looks like a pretty good reader to me

I guess I will be ordering a nice cover. I really like the brown cover on sony canada site but might just go for the one with the light.
