Along with a new reader and firmware update for the older devices (fact, not speculation). Oh and a new ebook library software, of course!

What I'm wondering is what they'll do about existing purchases and devices? Switching to ePub makes sense (even though I prefer LRF on my 505) but what about people who have books in LRX format?

I think that's going to be a real key to how this is perceived.

If they dump people's libraries they'll lose any goodwill the shift to ePub has created.

True! Sony doesn't exactly have a brilliant history as far as this goes!

Most likely one will be able to redownload purchases as EPUB files.

I really don't see any issue there. LRX books are tied to an account, not to a device. As long as people maintain a personal backup of their books (which any sensible person does) there's not a problem, even if they stop being downloadable from the Sony site.

Later in the year, the company will begin selling a third Reader that will, like the Kindle, allow users to buy e-books wirelessly.

I guess that will be the announcement?

They've also now officially put the 300 and 600 up for preorder on their Sony Style shop.

They'll have announced the wireless reader before the 300 and 600 start shipping. I'm leaning towards getting the 600, but I'm gonna hold off till I get a glimpse of this wireless one; then I'll make a decision.

The new readers will support both lrf and lrx formats, so if you have books currently purchased in those formats and then buy the new reader, you can easily read the old format books on the new reader.

Alex, will you be attending this? If so, can you talk them into a give-away contest like we just had? I was a runner up in that one and I've already spent my gift certificate and I'm going through withdrawal symptoms.

Will the presentation be in Japan, Europe or the US? Just interested in which time zone the announcement will be made.
