While I understand the 700 had a light feature, I also understood this to have degraded the image quality. This was one of the reasons why I did not purchase this model.

I think it can be done eventually. But until then, I think I am going to stick with my 505. While I can see the point of adding a model with the touch screen features; I feel that the 300 would be pointless, really. Then again, I may be missing something.

I just read another thread where they mentioned the Sony launch for these new readers... August 25. Sony August 25 Launch I guess we will not see any hands-on reviews until then... I must wait.

well, looking like i'm going to sell my 505 a couple weeks before launch of the 600 to get the funds to take a gamble that the 600 is 'all that'.......curious about what lights will work, i've been using the sony one that lays on top of the display but i'm guessing that would kind of defeat the purpose of 'touch'.

maybe get $200 for mine and stand in line or wait 'online' on the 25th to get the new one.

Do I understand that there is a 3rd reader that has yet to be announced, or some other info?? that has not been leaked..?

I have the 505 lighted cover, which I bought before the 700 came out, and honestly I don't care for it either. Not only is the quality iffy, but the underside of the light wedge scratches very easily and then you have the glowing specks all over the screen. Yuck.

Now I just keep the lights on and if I'm sharing a room with anyone I leave it to them to put on an eyemask.

Perhaps, or it may just be wishful thinking. I'm hoping for a 9-inch PRS-900!

The PRS-300 and 600 are now pictured on SonyStyle.com, and shows "starting at $199.99."

But when you click on the "view now" arrow it still takes you to the page where you see the Michael Connelly Edition (sold out) and the Silver and Red 505 still being sold for $279.99.

Maybe the details on the two new models will show up on the site soon (maybe later today?)

Apparently there's been a few mentions by Sony about something wireless and bigger, but no details. So it should be more than a rumour.

I noticed that as well this morning, however.... now you can add to cart and pre-order.

As I was within days of buying a 505 this anouncement was good timing, so I call up my local sony store to find out when they are getting them in..Canada I figure it might be Oct. imagine my bigger surprise when they tell me they are closing and that was there last day..I considered briefly buying the 505 at 30% off, but I'm waiting to pre-order the 600 in Canada, haven't decided between the red and the silver.

The sonystyle site says the PRS-300 has right and left side page advance buttons. I don't see them in the pic. Am I missing something?
