I actually don't think color really matters - other than one's personal choice - and that the color "fades" as one gets into the book.

I don't suppose Sony would be interested in doing a trade-in program like they did when the 700 was released...I'd love to swap my 505 in for $100 off the 600. One of the things I miss the most about my old eBookwise is the touchscreen. And the one thing I hate about my 505 is the page-turning buttons. If I spend an afternoon reading, my thumbs start hurting after a while from those small, hard buttons.

But unless there's some sort of offer like that, I don't see myself replacing the 505.

I don't think they well. They did the 500 swap as a reaction to people wanting to be able to use the Adobe DRMed ePub/PDF ebooks. Since the 300/600 don't add any new formats there isn't as much of a reason to offer a trade it.

But, you never know, it could happen.

The only time I can see the color maybe being an issue is if the person is color blind and the color the person sees is not what it's supposed to be. Other than that, I don't see it as an issue. I've seen the red color and even that can fade away.

What Amazon is going to do... Instead of deleting books from the Kindle, they are going to replace them all with A Passage to India and the only way to get your books back is to read every single copy from the beginning to the end.

I was wondering if the silver did that which is why I was originally torn btwn the blue and silver. I read a review that said that blue was so dark that it helped with the contrast of the letters. I suppose that's true, but since I don't have a silver 505 I can't say for sure. However, I do own a 700 and that has silver around the edges of the page. I have noticed that the silver becomes part of the page just as you said. With all that being said, I'm still not certain which color I'll get in the 600 but I am glad that I'll have my choice of 3. If that's my biggest issue w/ the reader, I'm going to love it!
