Thumbs up Comics...

Hey All,

Thanks to Alexander we have this link to
Dilbert which is: http://jsmoriss.mvlan.net:8080/palm/comics/dilbert.html

I found out that if you navigate to http://jsmoriss.mvlan.net:8080/palm/comics you can get 4 more comics which are all single comics! Now I can read Garfield everyday woo hoo. Dilbert and Garfield are the comics that are real dear to my heart. Only if Calvin and Hobbes and Farside could be included.

General Protection Fault: http://jsmoriss.mvlan.net:8080/palm/comics/gpf.html

Foxtrot: http://jsmoriss.mvlan.net:8080/palm/comics/foxtrot.html
Garfield: http://jsmoriss.mvlan.net:8080/palm/.../garfield.html

Nice ones. I moved them to the new links section.

Btw, daily comics of Dilbert, Garfield and C&H you can also find at my page.

Outstanding

This is great!!!

Any chance of working with the developer to have a few others available for individual download?

Alexander has done an incredible job of putting together the entire list but the file size is sadly too large for my Tungsten T's meager memory.

Thanks!

Hey Alexander,

I give you recognition. I just like the fact that I can choose which comics I want on my palm. I don't really care for all of the ones you have on yours. Any way that this can happen?

It is possible. I am just not sure about the legal aspects.

Currently, I don't store any comics on my server - the turcic.com link only provides external links to the comic images. As you can guess, also comics are copyright protected. To have comics displayed like on the jsmoriss site, I'd have to keep a copy of each image locally stored on my server (jsmoriss does that).

I will sleep over this problem and try to find a solution where I can provide single pages for each comic image and yet only provide external links.

Edit: for the time being, it *is* possible to de-select some of the comics on the turcic.com page. Right-click on each of the comic image you don't like, find out the characteristic part of its external link, and add it to iSiloX's Url Filters->Exclusion Filter. For instance, if you don't like to see "Ask Shagg", add the /shg/ wildcard to the exclusion filter. Similarily, if you don't like "Dilbert", add /comics/dilbert/archive/ as wildcard to the exclusion filter. See also screenshot attached. This solution is not as pretty as the one jsmoriss provides, but it is definitely more on the legal side and works well until I found out a better way.

Cheers
Alex
