Nice! And I really like the ehammocks floating all through the intro, makes me want to lie in one and read (3 pages and I'd be asleep).

Nice Job! Congrats!

Does sound like a good price. Personally, I kinda like the 6 inch, but that would be great for my girlfriend. I was eyeing an ebook reader for her as a christmas gift.

I thought the same thing. I wanted an 8" device. I was gonna go with the 6". However, that would mean purchasing a man-bag to carry it in, or just carry it everywhere in it's case.

What converted me to the 5" is that it will fit in my blazer pocket. I cut out a wooden shape to the exact dimensions, and it fits nicely.

It will also fit better in smaller purses. Not sure what kind of purse your gf prefers.

Adobe ePub support? You indicated on another thread that the Pocket Pro does *not* have it. Is that true, because that will certainly make a difference to many people here.

Dear Khalleron:

It comes with Adobe Digital Editions. That format is great and offers full DRM for .pdf! Adobe is working on offering the same in EPUB... but it is not out yet.

Meant politely and nicely, I cannot offer what the secure format purveyors do not yet have. We are also looking to offer Fictionwise eReader which, likewise, is working on DRM EPUB support... but it is not out yet!

Both the EZ Reader and Pocket PRO offer non-DRM EPUB support.

It says it supports ePub on the main site here: http://www.astak.com/product.asp?serial=05EZWHT

EDIT: RobertB replied above. It supports non-DRM epub.

What the heck are you talking about? Adobe Digital Editions supports DRM-ePub on my Sony. Every vendor who offers DRM-ePub support does so with Adobe DRM. If YOUR device promises ADE *without* ePub support, then that sets you apart from the rest of the ebook readers - as missing something extremely important that Adobe *does* have.

And saying you offer ADE on your website without mention that it only supports Abobe PDF is extremely misleading.

That's the same reason I want a 5"... It won't fit in my "purse" otherwise...

Not sure I get it either. The Hanlin v5 supports DRM ePub. AFAIK the BeBook mini does too. Aren't all three the same device? Do they run different firmware?

Same hardware, different software (aka firmware).

The latest EZ Reader firmware does use mobile Adobe Digital Editions to render ePubs, but I have only tried DRM-free ePubs. I posted some screenshots here.

I am surprised there is an issue with Adobe DRM for ePubs, since it is virtually identical with the DRM on Adobe PDFs.

I know many people just want to read ebooks without hassling with conversion steps, but the program used to remove Adobe DRM is among the easiest to use. See Adobe ADEPT DRM for EPUB circumvented, which also discusses the legal issues in detail. In summary, in the US it is probably legal to strip DRM from ebooks you bought for personal use and even if not a) who would know and b) who would care?

This, of course, absolutely wrong. ADE supports both epub and pdf. If you have ADEPT SDK on your device, it will support both ePub and PDF DRM.

This is completely different from the Fictionwise/B&N DRM for ePub. ePub is an open format and can be combined with whatever DRM you're coming up with.
