The Pocket PRO has Adobe Digital Editions preloaded and will soon have Fictionwise eReader as well. You can have both on the same device. Fictionwise is trying to finish the SDK. This has been 6 months in getting it done. They are very close. Then, we have to port it.; but some of the porting was done in advance.

I know that some grow weary of waiting. Me too. I am tired of saying it is coming. There is no way to speed up Barnes & Noble and they own Fictionwise. Honestly... I think we are very close.

Of course, keep in mind that the Pocket PRO supports: pdf, doc, jpg/bmp, txt, MP3, pdb, html, lit, and prc in unsecured formats! No other non-sister device is even close.

Please write a review on how it does not work and how well it will not load books. The Krummy takes some getting used to... but is easy to lose!! It comes with a pre-crushed case!

The case was definitely crushed. The screen was black with dark gray text. The USB port was non-existent, however it did connect to a 1.44 floppy drive (how quaint).

It could read practically any format, as long as it was ASCII/TXT. The font size include either Large (2-3 words per page) or small (50-60 words per page), perfect for those late nights!

All in all, it did not meet any of my needs, and was horrible at it's core functions.

I give it a 9/10!

Quick question. I'm looking at the picture RobertB posted earlier of everything that comes in the box, and for the life of me I can't figure out what the probe like device between the ear buds and the wall adapter is.

Is this just a brain fart on my part or does the pocket pro include an ice pick? Because I could use an ice pick.

That is a screw driver which you use to open the battery compartment on the rear of the reader thus enabling you to change the battery if need be.

Pretty thoughtful to include it I thought.

It is a phillips screwdriver... so it would make a fine ice pick after inserting the battery

Wow - so just $240 = £150. Still I suppose they'd be VAT and import duties to add to that. Even so - good deal. I'm almost tempted, except that I already have a Cybook and a PRS-505.

I think a $199 pre-order price, moving up to the $229 price at the end of Aug. is a very good move. It will greatly increase the number of preorders, especially for those that are fence-sitting right now.

AFAIK the Pocket Pro is a rebadged v5. I didn't find any manuals on Astak's site.

AnemicOak, thanks for the manual. I was looking for some detailed specs. Reading the press release there wasn't any mentionof DRM support for EPub (they didn't even mention epub, only PDF).
