I am guessing it will be easy following these steps:

(Alternative to 3 and 4 that would probably work if 100% of your books are on your device is to connect the Sony Reader to your Mac, and drag all the books from the Sony to the Library (in the eBook Library software) to copy them onto your Mac)

The Reader Pocket and Touch Editions, available for $279 and $399 respectively, as well as accessories such as adaptors, cases and covers with reading lights, will be available at the end of August at http://www.sonystyle.ca/ and Sony Style retail locations across Canada. Book lovers interested in trying out a Reader in person will also be able to find them for sale at Best Buy and Future Shop.

They didn't mention Costco either. I guess Sony are still working out distribution agreements with the Canadian divisions of Walmart and Costco Canada.

Happy to see that the Readers will now be available in Quebec, and in three different retail chains on top of that! Sony!

I'm a little disappointed that the Canadian prices are significantly higher than the US prices. I'll definitely be watching for sales and rebates to appear over the next few months.

Are these dimensions correct?

505 (122 x 172 x 8mm)
600 (121 × 174.3 × 9.8 mm)

Why is the 600 longer and wider than the 505? The screensize is 6" for both, and the 505 has extra buttons that the 600 does not need. I would have thought that the 600 would be smaller in size. (I understand why it is thicker, because of the touchscreen)

I agree with you that Sony is going in the right direction. By focusing on making an affordable product with emphasizing its access to google books and libraries rentals and by selling the readers at best buy, costco, and walmarts, the marketing department has shown its genius.

However, I am still puzzled by mentioned in other sources that a wireless reader is in the works -- why is Sony waiting on that announcement?

The PRS-600 dimensions were taken from the leaked service manual, the 505 from the MobileRead wiki.

I'd say the reason is simply because they're still working on it. Possibly trying to set up deals with bookstores/publishers to allow purchasing directly from the device. But they've stated several times now that they are definitely working on a wireless reader.

I don't know why, but it seems that this has been the case for a long time, at least as far as books. I'm looking at a PB of my daughter's and it says:

$4.99 US/ $5.99 CAN

Wouldn't taxes/VAT make a difference? (just guessing)
