Awwww, poor Marcky. Big {{Hugggss}} (I'm carefully breathing the other way, so as not to catch your cold) and a large bowl of home made chicken soup. Get better quick! Oh, and if you've got lots of people around, milk it for sympathy!

Ooops. I see you explained in another thread. Anyway, hope you feel better soon, krisk.

Hey, was it Ka? Love? Some other show? My wife and kids tell me those shows were terrific and am curious what you thought. I've never seen either (Vegas does nothing for me).

it was KA. and I gotta agree with you VR, the whole Vegas thing leaves me underwhelmed. the electronic slots where you are playing off of plastic card certainly removes all sense of actually handling money. they now have all of these cheesy, 3 card games and of course texas hold 'em *shudder* don't get me started. it appears to be loud, noisy, over done, over spent....yada yada yada. and FREAKING HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gimme a ski resort any time!

Also, we hab...err, have people coming to visit from late tomorrow night until Sunday, and then other people overnight on Sunday. As such, my MR-participation may be rationed during those days (to the silly hours after everyone goes to bed...like now in fact).

5 ounces of gin and lemon juice straight down, overdressed and loads of covers on the bed, get in, wait for the kick and cover up. You'll sleep fast and sweat like crazy and when you wake up the cold will have less effect on you.
Works for me every time.

I've been to Atlantic City once. I walked into the room with all the slot machines, put in a quarter, pulled the lever, won $5 worth of quarters, cashed them in for a $5 bill and walked out.

For full disclosure, my dad bought an antique slot machine when I was in elementary school. It's a 1941 Bronze Chief Quarter Slot. My brothers and I used to play it all the time, so the thrill of playing a slot machine wore off a long time ago. When my parents moved to Florida, they gave me the old slot machine and now it sits on a stand in my kitchen and all the neighbor kids love to play it when they come over. I tell them if they use the house quarters (I have a plastic bowl of quarters next to the machine), the house keeps the winnings but if they use their own money, they get to keep the winnings. So far, none of them have used their own money.

I just got back from having 2 wisdom teeth removed. The meds should be ready in 30 minutes, which means I'll be very very happy here in about an hour...

Make sure you don't use a straw (or smoke if that's your thing). Blegh, I did not enjoy getting my wisdom teeth out one bit.

My cheek itches, but I can't scratch it because it's numb! It's like I'm scratching some 2 feet above my cheek, trying to scratch through an invisible barrier. How frustrating is that!

I'm calling now to see if the meds are ready. (My sis is calling, cause I can't speak with a numbed mouth full of gauze). I'll be playing Texas Hold 'Em tonite with some friends, and I'll most likely be a bit loopy. I'll still kick their heinies, though. Not cause I'm that good...they just suck.

Oh you'll be numb for a while! I remember when i got out I wanted McDonalds hotcakes and sausage so bad, and then I cried when I couldn't eat it because my mouth was so numb. Then about two hours later I was just un-numb enough to have a go, and the end result was syrup all over my face. But damn, those pancakes were good.

yup. got a list here. no smoking, no straw, no spitting, no rigorous mouth work (no kissing?), no tooth cleaning near the socket, no strenuous activity for 24 hrs, light diet for 24 hours.

Looks like a couple days of Maruchan Ramen for me.

I haven't had a pipe for 4 days; I can wait however long i need. One thing about a pipe, it's not an addiction. I smoke the pipe for the flavour, not for the nico-fix. I can put the pipe away for weeks (and have), so a few more days will not hurt.

No carbonated drinks, which means NO PEPSI!!! Arrrgghhh! Oh well, looks like Sweet tea it is. Yum!
