Kindle 3G HSPA mod for UMTS in Europe

Hi,
i'm in the process of modding my kindle with a HSPA modem. I will need help on the software side. Any help would be appreciated..

I would have gone for Wifi.

Well, wifi has too many different options to set; like SSID and enc-key. In contrast HSPA does not need any of them. Also I want to restore the original functionality of "internet everywhere".
Besides, it's work in progress. Maybe I'll ditch into wifi later. Most probably the linux support for wifi cards is better.

Look into /etc/ppp. As far as I can tell they just use PPP (like in good old modem days

Don't know. Most probably it will, but it will also need another firmware mod. As for the Hardware, as far as I can see (from photos on the net) the DX also has a miniPCIexpress card inside, so why not ? It (the DX) also has some preparation for a second module in a corner, I guess that's for Bluetooth.

Just lost my interest in this Project (just after I started), if anyone want's to use that Domain; grab it fast, as I canceled the renew.

Did you ever succeed? Your site helped me with getting the kindle modem working on a PC (weekend bored project, managed to access Kindle store and amazon store from a PC without wifi).
