Actually not really the Storm is their most popular phone. The only reason it has not gotten more popularity is due to the bad reputation it started with not the screen. Jump over to crackberry.com and you will never hear anybody say I don't like the Storm because the screen is too big.

That said I do think you have a valid point bigger is not always better, but the comparison is more 5" vs 9". A 6" screen is just as portable I have no problem carrying my PRS-505 in my back pocket. But because I read so many PDF that 1" makes a huge difference. Because of that I will most likely never buy a 5" unless PDF is done away with or the reflow rendering is equivalent to some of the smartphone today.

I haven't seen a Sony 505 for the 160-170$ that the jetBook can be purchased at.

The size of Storm screen is fine but I think nobody will buy it in case if cell phone will have 6" or even 5" screen. PRS-505 is too big for back pocket...

So basically I would have to carry it around in my briefcase or shoulder bag, just like I would have to with a 6 inch device. In that case, what's the point in sacrificing readability if you aren't really going to get any more portability?
Dear Canuck_in_Japan:

Depends on the size of the 5 inch. The EZ Reader Pocket PRO is plenty small enough for a front pants pocket as it is as thin as a pencil and weighs under 6ounces. That is true portability!!

I owned a Kindle for a while and am getting a 505 soon. I use mine for 8.5x11 docs and the like. Not just books so the more screen size I can get the better. As it stands the 6" is still too small for me, but the iRex and DX are far beyond my budget for at least the coming year and the 6" just makes the cut. I wouldn't have use for anything smaller unless it was realllly cheap. The Jetbook looks cool though.

But almost nobody will put a reader in his/her back pocket. It's then just waiting to become broken.

Exactly! I can't take this argument too - How one can keep a bookreader in a back pocket of jeans or shirt pocket? Crazy idea!

Depends on what kind of shirts one wears.

I wear trousers with side-pockets (like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/i...N&color_name=x), large enough for a possible 5", not large enough for my HanLin V3. I would love to be able to carry an ereader in my pocket.

Are you not worried about breaking it?

Or, rather, how did you manage not to break it so far? Is it sturdier by far than I am assuming it to be?

No I'm not worried.

I only place it on my pocket when I'm standing. If I'm sitting, I'm usually reading so I have it in my hand else I place it down next to me.

Truth is I've damaged it more by accidentally dropping it than accidentally sitting on it.

However if I ever have to sit down and I cannot place the device down I'll usually deploy the one cheek technique.

It's been scientifically proven that 90% of men over the age of 25 have a 'safe pocket' in their right butt cheek. This 'pocket' or technically referred to as an indentation, is derived from years of stuffing a thick wallet into the back right pants pocket.

Ask an adult male who owns a large wallet to switch back pockets and sit down, he will shift uncomfortably as his left cheek does not have this indentation.

Therefore, I bring it to you that should you wish to keep your reader safe, all you need to do is remove the wallet and fill the empty cavity with the reader.

Thank you.
