Ok. Hint: this movie combines my Dutch background with my current Aussie-ness. Which is of course why I picked it....

Any chance of more clues? The very small selection of Aussie and Dutch movies that I know reasonably well don't fit (well, I'm pretty sure it's not Age of Consent, Travelling North or Walkabout as they are older than the car in the shot and have no Dutch connection I can think of...).

I thought they used the '83 Toyota in that movie for the "heroic death of a minor character no-one cares about in saving the really annoying kid of the leading actor from hideous predation"....

That was the manual transmission one, not the automatic.

You guys have it all wrong. I'm surprised at both of you! It's obviously the '37 premake of The Exorcist. That's Greta Garbo in the role that Linda Blair played in the later version. Greta will be upchucking some pea soup at any moment. The fact that she's running in front of a Toyota 4-by-4 driven by a dog, wearing pajamas, and it's in color, are all reasons why this film never made it big and Garbo fans just don't talk about it much.
