Thanks for the realease. One note on the Mac version: When browsing to ad a cover in Edit meta info, it doesn't auto select the jpg, etc. option, so all image files a grayed out by default. Otherwise it's perfect. O.K. ,it would be even more perfect if you could do minor edits within Calibre. |

Thanks again Kovid for all the hard work (and to the development team). Great tutor video also. A paypal donation for all your efforts is on the way.

Thanks for this, Kovid. What is the best format to start with for conversion? Clean HTML? |

After some trial and error, I finally got Calibre 0.5.14 working exactly the way I wanted: I cut/paste an article from the web into Word, clean it up a bit, save it as HTML, then add it as a book into Calibre. I convert the book to EPUB. The custom override CSS takes care of my preference for the Times New Roman font and 1.5 line spacing. Perfect. I auto-upgraded to 0.6.1 last night. And my sweet system is broken. Some books cannot be converted to EPUB, never an issue earlier. Those that can be converted to EPUB do not have the Times New Roman font or 1.5 line spacing - even though I've added the "extra CSS" in the new location. Every new book on my Sony PRS-505 now has two near-empty pages at the beginning (cover and Calibre credit) followed by a very narrow body of text in the system font. Long story short, they're unreadable. I'll explore what's going wrong with 0.6.x at a later time, when I have the bandwidth, but a request for right now: If any of you has experienced similar issues, can you tell me how you fixed them? Failing that, can somebody e-mail me Calibre 0.5.14? I'd appreciate that very much. Thanks. |
