This is obviously sheer lunacy. They were entirely within their right to delete content they had sold and accepted money for, from the private storage of devices owned by their customers.

Perhaps somebody from the cool-headed crowd here at Mobileread.com can give this joker a clue. Is he new?!

I'm glad he apologized. My biggest problem with the whole thing was that it affected the way a lot of people view the entire ebook market

I have to agree. I think Amazon is setting themselves up for huge problems in the future.

I'd like to think that this is a genuine post.

I'd also like to think that the "delete" decision was made by a first year attorney from a third rate law-school, who is now looking for work.

Well, apparently their new policy is that they will no longer be deleting content from Kindles.

I suspect that they are going to do the appropriate thing and screen the content that gets added to their website more carefully.
