There's only sand! What do you do with it?

Give me a castle, a museum of even a ferret but sand?

Castles! You build beautiful castles, and roads, and houses, and animals!

You create a replica of the world, to which you add all the modifications you see fit! Then, you watch it all poetically fade away, eroded by water and wind, keeping only the imprint your creation left in your eyes and in your heart, and you walk away, enriched by yet another dream...

That's what you do with sand!

Rejoicing!! My wish list at Books on Board almost doubled today...some of the "new" authors I had been unable to find in ebook format, finally showed up there. I'm so excited!! Now all I have to do is come up with the money to buy the books, July is always tight financially...

I'm all caught up with my New Yorkers on the Kindle. finished "The Book of Dahlia" a few days ago; it was great. Now I'm going to be glued to the computer today because my book has finally been released in the UK! Yaaayyyy! My only disappointment is that it's dead-tree only. But if it sells well and they want to sell it in the US, I'm going to insist they put out a digital edition with the text-to-speech enabled.

Yeah - I loved the preview I downloaded (to my Kindle) of your book! Can't wait to find the whole book.

Nonsense. What you do is process it. You can convert it into silicon chips, place these into incredible gadgets, then throw away the plastic, replacing it with a steampunk casement, then mount that whole assembly into a wooden case with glass panels (made from more sand...)

(I'm trying to decide if the "Tales.." thread should be created in the Lounge or the Writers Corner....)

And going home.....

And impressed with the 20 second rule....

I love some of the steampunk case mods out there. Not entirely sure how I'd go about steampunking my Mac, though... Or if I'd want to - part of it's appeal is that it doesn't stand out.

Writers corner, definitely

I may be behind in reading other threads --- but last I recall was there was an opening for a 3rd person of whatever Frick and Frak do -- and you badly wanted that position. Did you get it? Is that what you are training for??

that position is in purgatory. not surprising as I had applied for THIS position 5 years ago. no one knows where it is. anyway, no this training is not for that. but it is good training for me in my profession in any event. if the cost of a training is any indicator of how good it is... 5K for one week! w00t!
