@hippocrates: Both your problems are caused by the same regression in MOBI output in b14. Will be fixed in b15

@Abisha: Should be fixed in the next release. Though to make sure, you should opena ticket and attach the MOBI file.

OS X, latest, fully updated.
P.S. It's still happening with Beta 6...15. It happens, for example, with the PRC file Cloud of Witness. Here is the error, just in case: Sayers_Clouds of Witness.prc Traceback (most recent call last): File "calibre/ebooks/metadata/worker.pyo", line 38, in read_metadata_ File "calibre/ebooks/metadata/opf2.pyo", line 934, in render File "calibre/utils/genshi/template/__init__.pyo", line 20, in <module> File "calibre/utils/genshi/template/markup.pyo", line 24, in <module> File "calibre/utils/genshi/template/eval.pyo", line 17, in <module> File "compiler/__init__.pyo", line 28, in <module> File "compiler/visitor.pyo", line 1, in <module> ImportError: cannot import name ast Last edited by Sonist; 07-20-2009 at 03:52 AM. |

@font-face instruction is not written in the CSS
Hi Kovid,
In the latest beta (0.6.0.b15), I tried converting a PRC file into ePub ; I specified a custom CSS, and it contained "@font-face" instructions along with "font-family" : Code:
@font-face { font-family: "Caecilia"; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; src: url(CaeciliaLTStd-Roman.ttf); } @font-face { font-family: "Caecilia"; font-weight: bold; font-style: normal; src: url(CaeciliaLTStd-Bold.ttf); } @font-face { font-family: "Caecilia"; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; src: url(CaeciliaLTStd-BoldItalic.ttf); } @font-face { font-family: "Caecilia"; font-weight: normal; font-style: italic; src: url(CaeciliaLTStd-Italic.ttf); } body { font-family: "Caecilia", serif; } Code:
.text { display: block; font-family: "Caecilia", serif; font-size: 0.83333em; margin-bottom: 0; margin-left: 15pt; margin-right: 15pt; margin-top: 0; page-break-before: always; text-align: justify } But the @font-face instructions never found their way into the resulting CSS... this is a bug, isn't it ? Should I open a ticket ? Cheers, and thanks for your work, David. |

Just want to let you know that MOBI conversions failing with B14 are now running fine with B15. So that has definitely been resolved...;-)

@dpierron: calibre does not aim to preserve your CSS class definitions, instead it tries to simplify them as much as possible to improve rendering speed on the device, which is why font-family was moved. As long as the correct *content* still has the font-family rule, it's not a bug.
As for font-face, yeah that's a bug, but it will probably only be fixed when I add support for font embedding to calibre, until then font-face is rather meaningless. |

Greetings Kovid.
Since latest version (6.0.15b) I have the following error message on some books when trying to open metadata editing: Spoiler:
If you need me to open a ticket and link files just say so. Last edited by Colaveare; 07-20-2009 at 11:39 AM. |
