Never the same thing. It has happened when I have tried to change the Meta data, when I have highlighted a book, and during conversion. I am using Steer Mouse, but until this beta, I haven't had a problem.

So I ran calibre-debug -g and than ran get metadata for some books. The first time it didn't produce any error but just said that it couldn't find metadata for a part of the books. So I ran again get metadata on those books and after some time windows told me that it crashed and closed it. However, it didn't show any errors in cmd. The only error, which happened the first time too, was right at the start and I assume didn't later cause the crash.
Code:
link hasn't been detected! link hasn't been detected! Exception in thread Thread-23: Traceback (most recent call last): File "threading.pyo", line 522, in __bootstrap_inner File "calibre\gui2\metadata.pyo", line 30, in run File "C:\Program Files\calibre\library.zip\calibre\ebooks\metadata\library_thi ng.py", line 62, in cover_from_isbn ISBNNotFound: ISBN: 9780471489733 not found. There is another thing that I noticed, for the second time now, when it crashed one file ended up with just the title renamed while the rest of the metadata remained unfilled in. The file in question seems to be normal. Another thing which is kinda related to this and I noticed from the first time I batch downloaded metadata is that some files don't get covers. For example, I click get metadata and covers for a whole bunch of files and for some of the files it downloads metadata but not covers, yet when I individually click get covers on these files they do get the covers... Is my computer simply massed up or am I the only one doing this for so many files? Last edited by myle00; 07-18-2009 at 01:11 AM. |

@Devon: Sounds like an incompatibility between the updated graphics library calibre uses and steermouse. There's not much I can do about that unfortunately.
@myle00: Hmm there may be some subtle threading related bug in the metadata download code. Open a ticket about it and I'll look at it when I have the time. |

Hi! I love Calibre (and just donated). Forgive me if this is a stupid question: now that feeds2* are deprecated, what is the equivalent in 0.6.0b of the command-line commands
feeds2mobi 'The Economist' feeds2epub 'The Economist' ?? Many thanks--Andy |

Conversion to fb2
WinXp
calibre beta 14 mobi file from baen Conversion of any format to fb2 still seems to not be working in b14. Tacked on some screenshots from cr3 and calibre reader to show what is generated. This is what has happened to every book I've tried to convert to fb2 lit, mobi, epub the source format doesn't seem to matter. The calibre reader renders text that is readable but cr3 is showing all of the tags. Thought it might be a problem with the WinXp version of the cr3 but my linux version of cr3 shows the same thing and the WinXp cr3 can display my other fb2 files alright. |

@derrell, I've committed some fixes for FB2 output. I've tested the output with FBReader and PyBookReader. Let me know if it's still not displaying correctly with cr3.

FYI: Importing Dorothy L. Sayers prc from mobileread (e.g Whose Body), triggers this:

Convert to MOBI is failing quite often
Hi, I've been switching between 0.5.14 and 0.6.0b14 but have given up. (because of the long time to move the library each time). In quite some instances, LIT books failed to convert to MOBI while converting from LIT to EPUB is working fine. Going back to 0.5.14 does not give me problems to convert the same LIT books to MOBI. If I'm the only one (but I doubt
![]() Furthermore, is there any easy and quick way to switch from 0.5.14 to 0.6.0b14 and vice versa without moving the library each and every time? It's not a problem to copy the folder but Calibre takes quite some time to move a library (with more than 400 books). I'd like to use the new features and functions but this MOBI conversion problem stops me from using the beta version (unless B15 is about to be released..which I will give another try). |

@cloggy: Just create two separate libraries for 0.6 and 0.5. Then locate the file global.py (should be somewhere under ~/Library/Preferences) and edit the library_path setting in that file to point to whichever library is appropriate for the current version of calibre. Then when you start calibre, that library will be used.
As for the MOBI conversion bugs, one large source of bugs has been fixed for te next beta, so try it out. |

@Hippocratesnoah: For now, the recipe system doesn't support creating a collection of feeds from different sources.
