I cannot say if AZW eBooks can have a time limit or not. But the Sony version does not have a time limit. If you own a Sony Reader, get the Sony version and have it for as you need to read it (or longer).

I've never seen a time-limited AZW from Amazon, although it can happen - it's really just a mobi format and mobi library books do have time limits (which the Kindle respects, if you use the Kindle PID). Selling them in the Kindle store, however, would violate the current TOS, which says they are yours "forever," within the device limitations imposed.

According to post #41 in the following thread, the Sony freebies expire before the 1-year mark. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...t=50418&page=3 Just to clarify, do the Sony freebies remain in your library perpetually once they have been downloaded to your computer, or do they actually expire in less than a year? |

As far as I know the freebies offered by publishers do not expire. I guess I will know for sure in about two months. |

From Amazon.com [blurb]:
"....The volatility of the job market and the limitless opportunities afforded by the internet have forever changed people's attitudes about schooling. In this world of rapid technological development, people are becoming successful, making money and finding personal satisfaction through non-traditional means. Ideas have become more important than training; innovation is more important than credentials. The ability to educate oneself -- to learn how to learn -- is crucial. "James Bach, the son of bestselling author Richard Bach (Jonathan Livingston Seagull,) understands that. Like so many young people, James struggled in school, eventually dropping out at age sixteen. A few years later, he was leading a team at Apple Computer. Now an internationally recognized expert in the field of computer software testing, James has written Secrets of a Buccaneer-Scholar: a groundbreaking book that shows how anyone can create their own education on their own terms. It is nurturing our individual curiosities and relishing the learning process that will lead anyone -- from children struggling in school to professionals looking to jumpstart their careers -- to success. "In his unique pithy and anecdotal style, and combining his personal story with proven methodologies, James describes the relentless, whimsical, low-intensity learning process he calls "buccaneering." Secrets of a Buccaneer-Scholar demonstrates that it is the people who chart their own course, who never stop learning, who will come to dominate this new world." Don |

I just finished this book yesterday and I really enjoyed it. I had a lot of the same problems as the author with schooling, and I got a lot of new ideas from the book. I highly recommend it!
