It was cool-ish about 11 pm last night. DH and I considered taking a walk, but then opted for sleeping instead. Today's forecast, which we could pretty much repeat ad nauseum until October: HOT like an oven!

I guess you can say we're an Easy-Bake Oven until tomorrow then we graduate to the giant woodburning pizza oven!

It's going to be close to 105 again today. Erk.

I called Jack in California last night (to let him know that I would be coming out for a few days in September) and he was telling me about the "heat wave" they were having there. It got as hot as 85!! I dimly remember screaming WIMP at him over the phone.

That's one of the things that I always found curious about living in South Florida. They would complain about a heat wave when the temperature hit in the upper '80's. In Chicago, a heat wave was when the temps reached into the 100's and people were dying because they didn't have air conditioning. My friends who lived in Chicago were always afraid to come to Florida in the summer because of the heat, when in reality, it was cooler in Florida and only slightly more humid.

I will admit to being in Orlando for two weeks when the combination of heat and humidity had people dropping like flies. The problem for me was I was suffering from plantar fasciitis, and so I could barely walk, and trying to get around Disneyworld in that situation damn near killed me. I still think it was a great trip, however.

being a weater man here is hard. even if you say its going to be hot and sunny every day. you would still be wrong less then trying to do a normal forcast in amost any other state.

could pry just say it raining in seatle(no comments about this not being a state) and have about the same rate thou from what I hear...never been there

There is a good sized difference between the weather in Orlando and the weather in Fort Lauderdale, where I used to live. Thankfully, we got the breezes off of the ocean, so the humidity wasn't as bad as it gets in Orlando. I've been in Orlando in August and pretty much just wanted to stay in the hotel suite, yet I loved being outside on our patio at the same time of year. I will also admit that the heat and humidity bothered me much more when we first moved into the Ft. Lauderdale area than it did when we moved out 8 years later. I truly feel that you get acclimated to the weather in the region after you've been there a while. When we moved to Virginia, it took me forever to get used to the winters and that's even with spending most of my life in the Chicago area.

It's July in England. Typically known as summer. My window is open and a refreshingly cool breeze is blowing in.

So refreshingly cool, in fact, that I'm either going to have to put a long sleeved top on or close the window

Oh, good ... then it wasn't just me. Top it off with the fact that they had mosquitoes the size of B52s, biting horseflies, and HUGE palmetto bugs. I must really LOVE Disney, because I still enjoyed myself.

Mostly clear blue skies here. Unfortunately, we're only expecting a top of 18C/64F today, and at the moment it's 15.5C/60F, with a cold breeze. I've got my ugg boots on again (and a long-sleeved t-shirt and a fleece).

Farkin' winter.
