I am guessing that the water babies bit refers to the fact that all zodiac signs fall into one 4 elements (earth, air, fire, water) we are in a water sign (Cancer) at the moment.

The moon bit I am not sure unless someone has checked an ephemerides and that we have a moon in a positive position in the current planetary alignment.

The Water Babies is a novel by Charles Kingsley. I'm not sure how it is relevant. I'm supposing that Marc's primeval innocence means that he might not have an actual birth date in a solar calendar. And, given that our current calendar is solar, rather than moon-based, maybe that complicates things. (If we had a moon-based calendar then there would be 13 months of 28 days each per year.) Perhaps someone might be kind enough to explain?

y'all kinda sorta have it. all of the zodiac signs are associated with an element and Cancer is a water sign, and we are often called water babies due to some of our other traits. additionally each sign has an associated planet, and ours is (now don't argue, I didn't make the rules!) the moon

Well, I hope that Marc is having a splendid birthday, and that his Loved One has not been worn out to a frazzle.
(I seem to get frazzled on other people's birthdays. It's the result of too much baking, etc. Currently I am planning my little brother's birthday cake for next Sunday.)

that's the nice thing about virtual parties : there is no baking involved.

of course, that can simultaneously be the frustrating thing, for those of us who like to *eat* baked things !
