Released b11 with scads of bug fixes and a few new features
1) MOBI Output: When downloading news to the Kindle the downloaded news now supports the Kindle magazine UI, so you should be able to acess the list of articles, use the joystick to jump between articles and so on. (thanks to GRiker) 2) Lots of text input fields in the GUI have gotten auto completion and you can now type cover:false in the search box to see a list of all your books that don't have covers (thanks to user_none) |

That's good to hear. Will look forward to downloading it after work. Has the lrf font scaling bug been fixed yet?

Thanks!
Thanks for the hard work, Kovid and John! I'm very relieved that b11 works again with my PRS505 (although there are still some problems, for which I'll be creating tickets).

Hi Kovid,
Thanks a lot for calibre! I've been trying 0.6b11 on Kubuntu 9.04 amd64 (without installing over an older version) but it complained: Quote:

What would you suggest to get it working ? |

The problem with the ebook-viewer is a conflict between PyQt 4.4 and Qt 4.5. You can get it working if you remove the line: Code:
self.view.setProperty("url", QtCore.QVariant(QtCore.QUrl("about:blank"))) |

Now that I think about it. The problem is mostly likely that your copy of libphonon is a 64 bit library and the the calibre package is 32 bit.

Fetching Metadata Error
Hello Kovid
Thanks for Calibre - Very nice software I moved to Beta 11 today and encountered following error (Windows XP SP3) I am using Calibre with the GUI. When I try to update Metadata through ISBND.Com the systm finds the correct book but when I try to transfer it to calibre (Button OK) I got the following error message: Atribute Error: 'EnComboBox' has no atributte 'setText' with the following details in the error message: --------------------------- ERROR: FEHLER: Unbehandelte Ausnahme --------------------------- <b>AttributeError</b>:'EnComboBox' object has no attribute 'setText' --------------------------- OK Details ausblenden... --------------------------- and it is not possible to fetch the metadata. Also I still have 12 processes 'calibre-paralle.exe' run at the same time on my machine Thanks for the help Thomas |

Oh, Kovigoyal! Is it so difficult to provide an option to put ToCs to the end of books even if as you said it was not possible to hide them somehow???

@pars_andy: Yes, it has been fixed
@thomasmorus: Can you post the details (get them by clicking the details button). Also the multiple process bug has not yet been fixed. It will have to wait till I get access to a windows machine again (my new house is currently a mess) @sapient: There's something very weird with your windows. We'll have to debug in detail. Try the following two commands: Code:
calibre-debug -c "from multiprocessing.connection import Listener; l = Listener(address=r'\\.\pipe\caltest'); import time; time.sleep(5); print l.address" calibre-debug -c "from multiprocessing.connection import Listener; l = Listener(address=r'\\.\pipe\cal-test'); import time; time.sleep(5); print l.address" Last edited by kovidgoyal; 07-09-2009 at 12:39 PM. |

Small bug that happened in b10 at least: "optional hyphens", as created with MS Word, in rtf/doc files, are converted to non-optional hyphens upon conversion to at least Mobipocket. (Mobipocket's own software also does this)

That's because as far as I know, Mobipocket doesn't support optional hyphens. I may be wrong about that though.
