Talking Hello

I've been interested in eBook / eInk devices for about a year now and when I got the opportunity to take a holiday in the USA I figured I would pick up an eBook reader. I did just that, buying a Sony PRS-700 and I love it. Yes, it has some glare, but just tilt it slightly and it's gone. Reading in the bright sun is easy, the device is light enough to read anywhere

I even bought a few books from the Sony store, which was cheap and easy. If they keep that up, it's easier than getting them from illegal sources, and for the $6 each I paid for the books, I won't bother with trying to find it elsewhere. The Sony store took me about 4 clicks in about 30 seconds, elsewhere it'd take me at least 10 minutes.

The Sony store accepted my Dutch creditcard without a problem once I filled in my Dutch address as best I could, then entered a US postal code, state and selected USA as a country. It might no longer do that once I am in the Netherlands (if it checks based on IP address). If it doesn't work because of that, I will use a proxy in the USA and it should work again I will post on here once I am home to let you know if it works.

Hello Nvidiot -- and welcome to MobileRead. Congratulations on your Sony purchase. I think you're going to enjoy it very much. In addition to the Sony store, you can purchase books from Fictionwise, BooksOnBoard, and Webscriptions.
