Clearly we know how to create the Table of Contents link, so I'm looking into calibre's Mobipocket generation source and a few Mobipocket files to see if I can work out how to get the other links to show up as well. Once that's done, ebook-convert will be clearly superior to mobigen in every worthwhile respect. If anybody has any information that would come in handy, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I don't have the time to do the neccessary reverse engineering/testing, but it should be easy enough to make a simple patch (I suspect all that's needed is some entries in a <guide> element in the <head> section of the MOBI html.

How do I get this ticket reopened?
http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/ticket/2780 I have verified the bug happens in Windows XP SP3 also. However, it is not when converting the ebooks that leaves behind an unused calibre-parallel.exe, it's when importing books to the database. I only imported MOBI books, so I can't tell you if the problem occurs when importing other types. This is just after importing 4 books in MOBI format: ![]() This is after converting the same 4 books to EPUB. ![]() Cheers Art |

As of calibre 0.6 there will always be n calibre-parallel processes present, where n=2*number of processor cores. When calibre is not doing anything, those processes are sleeping and shouldn't be using any computer resources.

On my other machine it's a quad core cpu, so I do see 8 processess open. They take quite a bit of memory, don't you think? 200 MB is a bit much for something that's iddle. Art |

New problem (to me). When I try to drop a PRC unto beta 10 or to import it I get an error with the following explanation: XMLSyntaxError:None

I fixed one problem that could cause that error, so try beta 11 in a few days and let me know if it fixes it.

I am not too worried about these superfluous callibre-parallel processes other than it appears to not be the expected behavior. Do you want me to open a ticket on this? |

They will only be swapped out if the OS needs the memory. Otherwise they won't be. As for the number increasing, that should not be happening. AT best there should be temporary increases in the number which should then fall back to the idle value once calibre is finished doing whatever it was doing. Definitely open a ticket. And if you could identify some repeatable set of steps that cause an increase in the number, that would be very helpful
