Not all that early, really. However, anything that I can automate to happen while I sleep, I automate. I usually get up at 8:00 am. I do chores (feed cats, walk and feed the dogs, start the laundry) until 10:00 am, and then grab some breakfast. I usually start doing work in the office at 10:30 or so (because it's 8:30 California time and people are just starting to get into the office). I knock off for lunch about 2:00 or 3:00, do a few additional chores during lunch, then around 5:00 pm feed the cats, clean out the litter boxes, start another load of laundry. By 6:00 pm I am usually back at work doing either office stuff or graphics stuff, or computer repair stuff, which winds up around 10:00 pm at which time I take my meds and settle down to read for an hour or two. It varies a bit depending on if I have to go into town for anything (which is a long process and is better left to having most of the day free), or if there is an emergency of some sort. Most nights I get a good 8 hours of sleep.
Quote:
8:00 - 8:15 feed the cats/start a load of laundry 8:15 - 9:00 walk the dogs 9:00 - 9:15 feed the dogs and clean the kennel 9:15 - 9:30 put wash load in dryer, start new load of laundry/do breakfast dishes 5:00 - 5:15 give the dogs their afternoon treat 5:15 - 5:30 feed the cats 5:30 - 6:00 clean out litterboxes 6:00 - 6:15 start load of litter pads Then, I add new folders for each client, or each specific project, such as "Paint the Pantry" .... and then break that down in to each separate wall, and subtasks ("mask", "paint", "clean up"). I don't always set down a specific time to start those, just an estimate of how much time I think it will take me to do the thing. The nice thing about Toodledo is that if you have some free time, you can tell the program how much time you have, and it will suggest things that you could be doing that would fit into that slot of time. You can prioritize and move stuff around to your heart's content, and the sync is very fast. You can also set up alarms to remind you of certain items. It is .... hands down .... the best organizer program out there (once you decide how you want it to work for you ... I'll admit, it took me a little time to realize that having lots of folders (projects) was not a bad thing. It meant that I could organize each project in more detail. When I'm done with a project, I just delete the folder. About the only thing that they could add to make me like this program any more would be the ability to "hide" folders when I am done with them, or archive them, so I could keep the data without having to see the folder. But, that's a minor quibble. |

I am busily updating all of the drivers on my other neighbor's laptop because I'm supposed to go to dinner there tomorrow evening, and I am not showing up without the laptop being complete.
For anyone with an older, unsupported, computer ..... "driver detective" is a fairly inexpensive solution. It was about $30.00, but since my neighbor had lost their original setup disks, and Toshiba no longer had any of the drivers online (thanks again, Toshiba), this was the best solution I could come up with. And, so far it appears to be working. Yippee. Oh, and I'm watching Jeff Dunham and laughing my ass off. ![]() |

Gee Ricky. If I invite you for a nice dinner, will you re-do my older Dell laptop? I'll even walk your dogs. (I hope dinner isn't all you're getting out of all that work you're doing for your neighbor.) |

Just got home from the Festival: Met the band Whiskey Falls (country) and got to cheer on a co-worker who has another band. Three bands, three stages, so we kinda wandered from one to the other. Whiskey Falls was awesome, and the guys were really friendly.
Jay (my son) got to play stagehand for Kirkland (my co-worker's band). He is in seventh heaven right now! I was so impressed with their professionalism, I'm used to seeing Sarah at work, not on a stage! |

Checking out "bingle". Some clever gent figured out a way to search using Google and Bing at the same time and display the results side by side.
I suppose you could use it to compare the two search engines to see which one you might want to use by default (unless you are a yahoo diehard), but I think I may leave bingle as my default for awhile. I rather like having both engines showing. |

The surest way for me to turn something I love doing into something I hate is for it to turn into something I *have* to do. No idea why, but it invariably works that way.
