<A very enlightening black spotlight lights up.>

"Ah. Hello Marc. I don't suppose you know where we are?"

"I think we're stuck at the back of my imagination stuck somewhere in a short circuit with someone's subconscious."

"Woof"

"Oh, hello WDE."

"When I find pshrynk..."

"Well, perhaps you shouldn't have worn red. Haven't you ever seen Star Trek?"

"Gulp."

"So Marc, would you know how to get out of here?"

"Ummm...."

"Come on, how on earth do you get out of your own skull?"

"Ahhh! I think I stashed the ZCD recipe back around here somewhere."

<Marc rushes off and starts doing worrying things with liquids.>

"WDE, why are you eating your scarf?"

"Self Preservation."

<Marc returns with three glasses...>

pshrynk and Vivaldi sat at the entrance to the Trouser Leg of Time. pshrynk was looking through the portal with a worried look on his face. Vivaldi chewed on the dog treats that had been left there to entice WDE to come back.

"He's been gone a long time, now, don't you think?"

"Who?"

"Wet Dog Eared. He was just supposed to go in, sniff out Marc, and come right back. He seems to be gone for a long time."

"Have you ever tried to find Marc with just your nose?"

"Tried? No. But you dogs have super senses, don't you?"

"That's speciesism, that is. Just because we have these magnificently long snouts doesn't mean that we're equipped for any greater things than humans."

"But I saw it on the Discovery Channel."

"Next you'll be saying that you believe everything you read in your Psych journals."

"Well, they are all validated studies..."

"Hmph! How can you be sure? They're just a bunch of letters on paper as far as I can see."

"So, you're saying that dogs can't really smell any better than humans?"

"No, I can tell you how many hotdogs there are on the top of a counter just with one sniff. But that's no reason to assume!"

pshrynk sighed and wondered when Harv was coming back to pick up his dog. "Still, he's been gone a long time..."
