Today it has been hot and very humid. (Actually only 25C/80F but with 80% humidity.) This is a bit unusual for Wales. Thunder is expected.

Perhaps because of this, the seagulls in Cardiff have been going wild today. They fly round in flocks, screaming wildly and swooping on people. All this is a bit unusual. And the flying ants have arrived. They will only be round for a few days.

it's been hot here too, ever since i started that contract working in the client's office all day long, funnily enough.

i think it's supposed to be hot all next week while i'm working there too. it's been so hot in fact that i finally went and got my hair cut. it's not bad, *almost* what i wanted (but not quite.

what exactly is so hard to understand about "really short in back please" ???? sheesh ! i may end up "fixing" it myself. it will probably end up pretty punk rock if i do, but then i like that look anyway.

well, i've still got the same glasses, so that should help with the identification.

i've been pinning it up every day as well since it got so hot, but after a while i start to think that's a lot of bother, when i could just cut it all off and not worry about it...

plus, it will dry so much faster when i wash it now that it's short !

my quest for the perfect stylist continues though. *sigh* if only my friend's father didn't live all the way in bordeaux (or, if only he came to paris more regularly...). he gave me the absolute perfect haircut two years ago and i've been trying unsuccessfully to get the same one again ever since.

Why is it that when you have something for which you want to look your best, your stylist has a "brain drain" and completely forgets how you like your hair cut even though she's been cutting it the same way for 4 years?!?!? I get my hair cut every 4 weeks and I always tell her, "just a trim" and she trims a little off the ends. This last time, a few days before the NoVa meet-up, she cuts it completely differently than she ever has before.

Now, not only am I meeting people I've never seen before but I have to do it feeling like I'm having a perpetual bad hair day.

Arggggg! At least it's summer and my hair grows pretty quickly then!

But maybe it looked better before, I guess I wouldn't know

I just found out my coworker does hair, and I'm so excited. I knew she cut hair, but she does foils and everything else. So yippee, I have a new stylist and can gossip about coworkers at the same time!

i know, sheesh ! you'd think lesson 1 in styliste school would be "listen to your clients."

having washed and slept on my new cut, i can now say it's actually not as close to what i asked for as i thought yesterday, but i think i like it anyway. and it'll all grow out sooner or later, and then i can start all over and test out yet another stylist.

in other news, today it is once again HOT here. easily 30, if not more, i'm guessing.

As predicted yesterday was a beautiful day for our Canada celebrations. Some rain would be nice though. The garden and my lawn are more a couple shades of brown rather then green.
