Your mother needs a new doctor if he won't run the test. And if your daughter has "IBS" (which means: intestinal symptoms just like celiac, but of a, so far, undiagnosed origin), then she should be tested as well. None of the dietary restrictions a typical IBS diagnosis bring will help if it is really celiac (in fact, the "add more fiber" advice they will give her will probably make her worse, if she uses whole wheat and oatmeal to get that fiber). And if either is positive - your husband, his siblings and all your children should be tested as well; one first degree relative increases your odds of having celiac to 10% (even more if you have certain conditions like type 1 diabetes, Down's, certain types of epilepsy, thyroid problems, and a number of other related conditions). A lot of people with undiagnosed celiac are considered hypochondriacs - but it's because they have an evergrowing number of complications (many of which can be reversed) from both the disease and from a lack of nutrition. Calcium, iron and B vitamins are often very low, sometimes dangerously so - and a lack of these can cause a great deal of pain, tiredness or even neurological (seizures, shuffling gate, pseudo-Parkinsons, pseudo-MS) and/or mental issues (depression, suicide). |

Now, now. Yeah, he was weird lately. (Aren't we all, in our own way?) But he was cool in the 70's and 80's, and those of us who spent our teen years in synch with *his* teen years, still remember those parts of him. Those years were pretty great, for Mr. Sparkly Glove! I loved his dancing.
P.S. If you had done your best work in your teens and twenties, what would you be doing now, to try to top your past successes? Anyway, I suspect he is more loved now that he is gone (and we can remember ONLY those great years) than if he had lived. |

Now, some "allergies" like lactose intolerance, for example, aren't really allergies at all, but enzyme deficiencies, and those are usually genetic and present at birth. But, anyone who says that all of your allergies are present from early in youth, knows pretty much nothing about the immune system. Maybe they forgot what they should have learned in medical school ... maybe they were asleep that day .... they just don't know what they are talking about. Oh, and "ps" .... I've had IBS all my life. Awful not knowing exactly what it is from, but when I get a bout, the pain is insane! Also, I had undiagnosed migraines for years. That was not a lot of fun, especially when people say you are faking, and not "really" sick, and you feel like you just want to freaking die. So, before you call anyone a hypochondriac (and this is not directed at you, koland), make SURE it's true. Granted some people just play sick for the attention, but there are a LOT of people out there who actually have problems that are real and get ignored or overlooked. Hell, they didn't know my wrist was broken for three months ... that didn't mean that the pain was imaginary ... just meant they hadn't spotted the problem. Depends on whether you are getting the quote from a hooker or a computer manufacturer. Perfectly reasonable in the first case, in fact quite the bargain, but out of the park in the second case.

Ah, but keep in mind, that was the "bulk" quote. So, if we're talking about your typical gang bang ..... $12 per head, at what .... 5 minutes per "client."
