Vcat, you don't need an excuse! Everyone needs their own space and has their own way of doing things. If you don't want them to help, respectfully tell them that you can handle the painting on your own and give them some excuse (make something up, like a fight with a friend, etc.) as to why you want to be by yourself to have time to think.

Oh, and the next time he looks at a personal piece of your anatomy, say what Shannon says, "Really?, Really?"

I've also see her stand and glare at someone who has seriously ticked her off until I am sure I've seen smoke coming from a hole on their chest!

Did I tell you she can be a b***h sometimes and she doesn't smoke?!? I have NO IDEA where she gets that from.

Argh, I was back to delete this, it's just so not worth a rant! I'm just plainly annoyed by stress!
And I got used to be stared at a while ago - I'm not even cute, and I don't dress sexy or anything, most guy I know or have met just cant look up. Plus I just stared at the (incredibly cute) cable guy when he was bending over, so I perfectly understand!

I'm so sorry for that, I'm not even mad anymore!

Don't apologize! It's called the Vent and Rant thread for a reason. You Vent, get it off your chest, and then feel better so you can go on with your day!

A little staring is fine, as long as it doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. The minute is crossed that line, it's unexceptable.

I won't comment about the "not cute" statement.

I use my small change for bus fares, though am beginning to realise that the bus driver is not too pleased to receive £1.20 in small change. But the copper coins just seem to weigh a lot when there's a purse full of them.

I collect mine in a pot until I have enough to pay it into the bank.

It is impossible to keep local bus drivers happy. Too much change is bad, but if they have to give you change that is also bad, and you end up with a "change receipt". You have to take this to the bus station and exchange it for money. There's a time limit on it, which has been increased as it was originally 7 days and there were complaints.

And I would love to pay £1.20 for a bus ticket. A single home from my current workplace is about £2.30 (about 3 miles). A return before 9am is very expensive - not sure how much as the driver always sells me a day ticket which is £4.20 because it's cheaper. After 9.00 the day ticket goes down to 3.90, and last time I got a return to work at that time it was £3.60. A single ticket for a shorter journey into the city centre is £1.80. I usually walk

that's EXPENSIVE !!! here, you can buy a pack of 10 tickets (un carnet) for 11.40, so that makes 1.14€ / ticket (it's slightly more expensive if you buy them one by one). with one ticket you can go anywhere inside of the city limits and close suburbs, and they are also valid for the metro and trams. these tickets are valid at any time of the day or night, there are not special fares depending on rush hour traffic or not (although i would strongly advise anyone stay the hell off the bus during rush hour). on buses you can now use one ticket to transfer between 2 buses under certain conditions. i think the time between buses must be no more than 20 minutes and the entire trip not more than 2.5 hours, or something. not sure exactly. i've managed to use 1 ticket for both directions of a trip, when i just had a short errand to do (dropping something off in a shop then going directly home), and i've also managed to take a bus, get off partway to my destination to do an errand, and then get back on another bus to complete my trip on the same ticket.

The Paris transport system is very good and very cheap.

In the UK it costs £4.00 for a London underground ticket. It is cheaper with an Oyster card. But I only visit London about three or four times a year.

Our buses are expensive. And unreliable. And badly planned. There are 2 different routes that stop near my house and go to the city centre. Both services run twice an hour. It used to mean we got 1 bus every 15 minutes. Now they've "improved" the timetable we get 2 buses within about 3 minutes and a 25 minute wait to the next one.

I use the bus if it's raining or if it's late at night. Otherwise it's usually quicker and easier to walk. And I usually walk home in the rain too.
