Two things: you should really consider telling your husband about this because he will eventually think something is fishy, and:
It's evening now! Is she happy? I wanna see! And I'd love to see the postcards too, if it's not too much of a strech!
(I know, I know! I'm winding down a little now, I'll go for a nap and come back to jump around until you are back!)

Well, she was speechless (which is rare for my daughter) then when she began to speak again, her first words were "Oh wow... oh wow... oh wow...!" Now she's taking them out and it's "Mom, you got to see this one. Mom, come here and look at this. Mom, look how big this one is! Aww! They are sooo cute (she loves all of the animal ones)! Mom, we're gonna' need a bigger table (as she's sorting through them and spreading them out). Mom, did she know how much I like animals?" Did you?

She is a very happy girl! You have done a most wonderful thing for her! Thank you just doesn't say enough! But I'll get those pictures for you!

BTW, I told my husband about it as soon as she got the first postcard.

I'm so happy!!!!! Kinda teary...

I thought she might like the animals and the flowers and maybe the space exploration ones from the sixties, so I specifically chose those. I used to looove them! Now I'm definitely more interested by the really old ones, like those from Germany with Hitler and Stalin on them, or some of those from U.R.S.S. I'm so glad she likes them! There must be about twenty countries represented in there, so there is a lot to discover!

Tell her I'm overly excited she likes them! And a early happy birthday again!

Were you able to actually read the note? I don't write like a doctor, I write like a spy from the thirties trying to make all the letters the same so you cant decode them...

I know what we'll be doing tomorrow! I'm glad there's nothing planned for tomorrow, because we'll be a sortin' stamps and "oohing and aahing" all day!

I had no trouble reading your note. Believe me, if you can read a doctor's handwriting, you can read anybody's! I remember going to a little Italian restaurant and the specials were all hand-written and no one in the family (there were about a dozen of us.) could read it but me!

Peverel- we received another postcard of Robin Hood's Bay today. I think that this was the first one written, as the one we received on the 3rd began with "Another card with..."

I'm pleased to hear it. The Norwich Guildhall is one of my favourite Norwich buildings. All in faced flint - typical of (posh) old Norfolk buildings.

Well it's hard to believe that my daughter's eleventh birthday is today!
That month flew by!

Much thanks and karma to tvg for the whole envelope of stamps from Netherland!

Many thanks and karma also to Bilbo1967 for the postcard and stamp from Solihull!

Sadly, her birthday pool party for her friends had to be postponed due to bad weather today, so she's already opened her gifts from us. I found a book called Stamp It! which is an excellent book for beginning stamp collectors. The people we ordered it from even covered the box with stamps and included a couple pouches of stamps inside the book to get her started! But you all have given her the best start! She wants to pick out an album to put them in, but I'll let her pick out the one (or two) she likes best! Thank you all for making this a wonderful birthday for my daughter! I realize that there are some postcards and stamps that haven't made it here yet, but don't worry about it or think they are too late! You know how we all try to make our birthday last as long as possible!

I've said it before and I'll say it again! MobileRead Rocks!(applause in the background)
