Actually, my zip says 110F/43C...hahaha! I have you beat!!

For those of you who are sane, not living in AZ during the summer months, you will probably not understand the 100 days of 100+F. At this point (end of June-Aug) we tend to strive for the highest, record-breaking temps ever...just to give us something to talk about.

That's exactly the purpose of this thread. We northerners use it to flaunt the lowest temperatures and the heaviest snow falls.

Keep it on! I've never been somewhere in the hundreds...

Spent the afternoon trimming roses, fixing a few drippers (yummy snack for our Shelties, Yoda & Obi-Wan)...then pool - only 88F!! Believe it or not (for all of you non-desert rats) I'm now freezing in the house with the A/C on.

pish-posh,

112 on my porch this afternoon. I had to check the external thermometer against a couple of others just to verify that. Then I took it out to the backyard thinking that it might be cooler and breezier there. Nope, 112.3!

I doubt that we will see anything that high again until the dog days but for now the golden state is baking with that solar powered goodness.

indeed

Poosh-pash. My brain lights up like a cyclone in a tin can in a microwave on HIGH thrown into a hydro-gen turbine with a balloon that's been rubbed against an alpaca for 17 hours and filled with hydrogen and some sub-point fission. 300F is a cool breeze on the googly bits, and the sun is an icecube in a large cup of ZCD mixed with lust. You want hot, grab me by my brain-tail and hold on, because Hell is coming up fast and the devil's been cookin' up a chilli enema for me and everyone I know ever since I swung down from Yggdrasil and goosed him with his own tail.

Hot enough for ya!

Oh, by the gods! My head is full of electro-arcs...

Yours reporting live from the tempest,
Adrian

temperature reading only counts if it is
a) from a shaded place
b) with a little wind included ...

we's got cloud but bright and warm at 19C .... XXSH expected this afternoon according to the experts ....
sunsets at 22:08 British Summer Time....

BTW what is the best temperature to store/eat chocolate. If one left it out in the open in AZ it would melt, no?

In the UK, usually room temperature, especially for eating. Cold chocolate loses most of its taste (which is great if it's the ultra-sweet chocolate-flavoured confectionary masquerading as chocolate, a lot less good for the decent stuff). If you do put in the fridge, take it out before you want to eat it so it can up to room temperature.

The weather here is sunny and far too hot. Antihistamines are currently my friend, prickly heat most definitely isn't.

It's cooled off for a day or two as the weather prepares for the Independence Day Good Ghod, How Long Is This Farking Traffic Jam? celebration.

Showing up as 85 F out here in Kingston upon Thames (I am only a few miles from ShortNCuddlyAm). Our office has no air con as we only had the budget to put it in the lab when we set up this building in September (which wasn't that warm last year), now I think my boss is regretting it.

Just went to Currys in New Malden to get a couple of fans but in this office its not really making much difference.

Also, much as we can open the windows, if the wind is the wrong way it is really stinky as this business park is located directly in front of the local recycling and rubbish distribution centre - i.e. the tip. Some of the smells are horrid. And behind the tip is the sewage farm.
