Here the water barely gets to 80f. That day is summer and I get a swim.

105... our water boils at 100... And if my house was 78 degrees I'd borrow it out as a sauna!

For those others that are also afraid that dog will be cooked, 101 degrees F is about 312K (or 38.33 degrees celcius).

And you didn't mention anything about humidity. Everything about 35 degrees celcius here will kill you (even when doing nothing, in the shade), while when I was in NM, you hardly noticed it (until you went walking in the sun).
