My mom used to always say this one: Always be nice to dorky guys. They might have cute friends. Also: it is what it is we shall see what we shall see (another of my mom's favorites... I can always tell she's ready to get off the phone when she says that one) what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. What doesn't kill you drives you to chocolate. |

When I was a kid and would ask mum at the end of the day, "What's for dinner?", she used to say to me , "Shit with bloody sugar on!". I think there's something in that for all of us. |

Oh, and my dad's favorite "do I need to take my belt off??" (my answer in my head ... well, it's preferable to the fire poker...) | |

Ah...the effect mothers have on impressionable children. My mother's favourite was: "Marriage is like a bath. When you first get in it's lovely and warm. But then the water gets cold and it's horrible." ...I never got married. |

A day without sunshine is like night. On the other hand, you have different fingers. 42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot. 99 percent of all lawyers give the rest a bad name. Remember, half the people you know are below average. He who laughs last, thinks slowest. Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm. The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese in the trap. Support bacteria. They're the only culture some people have. A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory. Change is inevitable, except from vending machines. If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments. OK, so what's the speed of dark? When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane. Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now. How much deeper would the ocean be without sponges? Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. Inside every older person is a younger person wondering 'What the heck happened?' Just remember - if the world didn't suck, we would all fall off. Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. - - - - - - - - the wisdom of Larry the cable guy. |

In primary school, 6th grade to be precise, Linda Reilly wrote something really neat in our graduation autograph books. (I was secretly in love with Linda but could not declare that love as I was already engaged to Mary Elizabeth Murphy and in those days, being engaged to two women at the same time was a real no-no.) Anyway, here is what she said; "Just be what you is. Don't be what you isn't. Because if you is what you isn't, you isn't what you is!" Linda wrote some heavy stuff for a 12 year old. Stitchawl |
