Hello!

Hi! My husband got a Sony Reader for me for our anniversary. I absolutely LOVE it!!! It nevers leaves my purse, unless I have to set my purse down, then I usually have the reader in my hand. lol... I'm addicted. Quick question...I've been trying to find some John Grisham ebooks, I can't find any legal copies. Any ideas? Also, where are the best deals for ebooks? Thanks!

Welcome to MR, jenieliser. I have the 505 and love it.

Have you looked at all the free ebooks right here on MR? They have been beautifully hand-formatted by the members here. I think they are better formatted than the ones offered for free by Sony.

Just look at the blue bar up on top and click the triangle next to ebooks. On the dropdown menu just click Sony BBeB (LRF) or EPUB (the Sony reads both) and have fun selecting as many as you want.

There is a Deals, Freebies, and Resources section where members list new finds and authors list their books. We have many authors on this site and most very generously offer their work for free to us.

As to the John Grisham ebooks, maybe you could download them to your Sony from the library?

Check out the Wki at the very top left hand side of this page. There is even a section that gives information about "borrowing" / downloading books from the library onto your 505.

Have fun reading all the threads in the forum and ask questions if you need help. Many of us have been the new one and the members are very helpful here.

Hi jenieliser and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Sony 505 for over a year and a half and really like it.

Apparently, Grisham doesn't do eBooks.

Thanks for the tips... It's silver. He gave me the reader and my sister in law gave me a M-edge cover in jade green (i love it!). It's gonna be hard for him to beat this anniversary gift. Unfortunately my gift to him is pretty lame compared to the Reader. Oops...I'll make up for it

Hi jenieliser.

I can find no eBooks by John Grisham. The SONY store doesn't have any nor any other book seller that I use have them. They only seem to be available in hardback/paperback/audiobook versions.

I use the eBook search site http://www.ebookprice.info/search to find the best prices, and it returned no eBooks by Grisham, only 2 eBooks about Grisham.

Please, someone prove me wrong. Maybe it's because of my location in Canada. I hope this isn't another author who doesn't like their works in eBook format.

Welcome to MobileRead!

As you'll find the longer you have your reader(and the more you hang out here at MR), there are some authors who are still leery about making their books available in digital format, but I think that will change over time. Try other authors in the genre you like. You might be surprised and find a gem you didn't even know existed. It's happened to me a number of times!

Enjoy!

Welcome to MobileRead! Silver is the best!!

In addition to the wonderful free books on here, I also go to feedbooks.com to get books, and sometimes Sony has free books (they have some right now) from their site at times. but the BEST place to get free books, imo, is the LIBRARY! If you join us on the 500/505 forum, there's a sticky thread regarding library collections. I found mine by going to my local library website and looking for an ebook link.

I wish Grisham and Rowling would go the ebook route, but it hasn't happened... yet..

Threre are a couple of Grisham's books in e-format, but I haven't been able to find any 'legal' ones yet. Same problem with Ian Rankin's books. If you do find some, please let us all know about it!

The links I posted were showing some Grisham books - or I would not have posted them - on checking again Books on board and Waterstones definitely show some - I don't know What happened with Sony & Diesel

Columbus, I believe all of the Grisham titles at Waterstone's and Books on Board are all hardcover, paperback or audiobook format.
