Hello Robert, I find that there is a good price of EZ Reader in FRY's. Can I order this reader online or I have to go to the store to buy one? In addition, does EZ Reader can clearly show the meta type of PDF document? like the pic ect. I'm a student and I just want to ust eReader to read Text book and some novel. By the way, do you think I should wait for the Pocket PRO? When can I buy a Pocket PRO? Sorry for so many questions. |

You see, I have already decided that when Pocket Pro comes out I am going to upgrade my Sony Reader. Unless, that is, the first hands-on reviews reveal some catastrophic flaw (Which I think is extremely unlikely). So, here am I, satisfied with myself that I finally found the perfect device to replace my old generation e-ink screen. BAM! Here comes Robert with yet ANOTHER temptation ;-) I am one of the regulars, but I am not going to register to yet another site. I do leave comments on your blog sometimes.

That could be good news for us Cybook users awaiting a new firmware that could support at least non-DRM Mobi and ePUB...

Is the picture of Intrique (under the name EB600 Cookie)? Or is it manufactured under generic factory name Grace? http://www.netronixinc.com/product_e-book.htm Does it have Epson controller? Will it have Glass substrate display or plastic? |

 Picture of Cookie or Grace

Only the 9.7 inch will have Flexi screen. Intrique will have Epson Controller and MP3 Factory Name is Cookie BUT be aware that the protoype does NOT look like the generic Cookie Photos that are lying around. Those Cookie Photos were POSSIBLE design. The prototype does not look like the old Cookie photos. I will post when I have the chance. Remember, this is a prototype. WHY would any factory name a unit a "Cookie"? What a shame. PLEASE call it Intrique. I was hoping nobody would ever know that Netronix called a great device the "Cookie".

You will not be able to put the genie back into the bottle, especially because Netronix has the name on its products page. "cookie" is an English word, so it might have certain appeal in Asian market. On the other hand, why would a manufacturer call their device a name that consists of FIVE words. And most of those words are frequently used words that you can find in a dictionary and millions of pages. Words like "pro" "pocket" "reader". ;-)) Not that I personally care what the device is called. When *I* own it, it will be referred to as Reader. The name is only important when you look for a new customer and you do not have persuade *me* about relative merits of various devices using fancy names. I look for technical specifications, design features. In my humble opinion, the best name is something that is an unique word, so when somebody looks it up using internet search engine they come up with the only reference and that is YOUR device. Inventing a really, really, good name for your product is very difficult. Almost black magic. Intel has paid million dollars for name "pentium" when they lost a case and other manufacturers were allowed to call their processor [something]486 and Intel did not want to use 586 as part of the name for new processor.

Look how popular IKEA is, and every item they sell has its own proper noun. Like Gerald, or Veronica. "Astak announced it's new 5" reader in the EZ Reader line. Presenting, the new EZReader Harvey! " |

Actually, I've never been. I only received the information from a reputable source (Stephen Fry on Q.I.) so I assume they had possibly translated the names. Which only goes to show... *Always Double-Check Before You Post!* |

I suppose the point was still made (even though the names were off). Naming each one. Even so, I'm glad Astak didn't name the 5" device "Junior". |
