I want to win the free reader as well. Why you should pick me. Well thats simple. I deserve it!

And I guess the other reason is that you would stop what is about to be an impending divorce between my husband and myself. Quiet frankly, how can I live with someone who waits until I get up to get a cup of coffee and in a sneaky, stealth type way moves like a flash of lightening, swipes my reader and is totally engrossed in a different book by the time I get back to the Sofa! And says things like "finders keepers!" and wont give it back.

Seriously, the only hope of saving our marriage and stop my 2 little boys ( aged 4 & 5) from being part of a split family is by giving me a new reader. so please

SAVE MY FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give the new reader to me.

Natalie

I want to win. It will be for my nephew who is 13 years old. We were just told that he is not reading at his age level. He's all into electronic gadgets, so I'm thinking an ebook reader might help to develop a love of reading. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I should like to win a Sony PRS-700 ereader as I am a gadget-holic. I crave gadgets so that I can learn everything about them and program utilities to make them more useful than they were originally intended to be.

Thanks,

Smile Here's my entry.

As Liz Lemon would say, “I want to go to there.” Please sign me into the contest.

I feel I should win because I want it the most and lack the means to get it. I’ve always been fascinated by ebook readers, mostly because to me they mean the future. Growing up I’ve read a lot of cyberpunk novels and I’ve always been fascinated by gadgets.
When I was living with my parents I had a GBA Movie Player with a Compact Flash slot. I would get txt files from Gutenberg and load it on my pink GBA to read on the bus to school. This was a bit of a strain on my eyes because of the 2.5x1.5 inch screen. But it was still a hell of a lot better than my dear greyscale ipod. When I graduated my brothers got me a PSP, I can remember downloading the txt to image software and converting Lady Chatterly’s Lover. It was great reading on that, until around I had to stop, since there was no way I could bookmark, I had to remember what page I was on. This was a little grueling when I got to the hundreds, just pressing that right trigger to get to my page took forever.
But I still love my gadgets, I keep them in excellent condition and always use them, so I won’t be disappointed if I don’t win.

Side note: I wrote a 10 page paper about e-ink in school and I got an A on it. I also twittered this.

E-book reader contest entry

I would like to enter this giveaway because I have always wanted an e-book reader. I am a music teacher at school and would love to carry my music in digital format. I carry cases of music books with me for classes, concerts and other events.

Slates and other devices are too big and more expensive (music teachers get paid less than classroom teachers)

I would prefer the Amazon Kindle 2; OR Sony Reader PRS-700.

Thank you very much for this contest.

Alexander wrote in the german forum that it's ok to post in german here. So come on german users, don't be shy. Enter the contest even if you don't have a good grasp of the english language. Enter the contest in german if you like.

Also kommt schon Leute, seid nicht schüchtern.

Bitte!

Why I should Win.....

My best friend always takes care of my cats when I leave town - which is frequently. I bought her a reader as a thank-you a year and a half ago. It broke in a fall. She is heartbroken, and I want to replace it, but times are tough.

Ok, after thinking about it for a while, I decided to throw my hat in.

I'm curious about the Kindle 2. I now have a Sony PRS-505, and I wonder what having immediate buying and a keyboard would be like.

I'd give the "losing" (relatively only) device to my FIL or SIL.

Here I go!

If I win......

I will give Igorsk the pleasure of choosing whichever device he doesn't have.

He is unfailingly helpful, and has done so much for this board.

Thank you, Igorsk.

I want to enter your ebook giveaway, and really, really want to win.

I used to love to red books, but with the arthritis in my hands, it is very difficult to hold a book and turn the pages. I have been leaning toward the jetbook, (seems to also be the cheapest), because it seems to be the lightest one, and might be easiest to hold, but I do not know about the srreen size. I wish there was a store to see them all, but this excellant site is just that--excellant!

Now that I am retired, I have more time (and less money) to read books.

My husband claims that if I bring another book into the house, there will be no more room for him,and we cannot afford to build an addition to hold books!

My 7 children and 18 grandchildren are all enamored of books, and the example of Grandma having an ebook would be a great incentive for them to get one, too. I would be a free advertising campaign.

I have never wanted to win any contest as badly as I want to win this one.

Please enter me in the contest.
If I win I will give a Kindle 2 to my wife who reads 3-5 pbooks a week. We have books all over the place and the shameful waste of paper appalls me.

Why do I deserve to win? I don't. I think DixieGal should win.

I'd love to win a new electronic reader, please include me in your contest.
Why me?
Well I've been using electronic books for years now, ever since I bought my first palm device and have moved through many different devices over the years. I didn't realize that I would loose my normal vision and only be able to read electronic books, but I'm sure glad I knew about them before I was stuck with Wet Macular Degeneration.
Now I have over 540 books and continue to buy one or two a week for fun. I'm back in college, and starting my career over again. It's never too late to take a new perspective or view on life.
Normally sighted or partially
Thanks!
Tammy

I an entering the giveaway for the Kindle 2.

I believe that I should win because I'd like to give the Kindle 2 to my dad who has recently lost most of his vision. The Kindle 2's text to talk function would allow him to listen to books and magazines much easier. It would allow him to live a more normal life and hold onto to the precious joy of reading.

I'd like a cybook Gen 3. (Or Opus, which I believe will be released soon?)

I'd like to enter the competition, but the ebook reader would be for my dad. My dad has spent the last year trying to decide about which ebook reader he wants. His interest in ebook readers developed after I showed him my Sony 505. While he's hesitant about going with Sony, I think the cybook would be a great choice for him.
